is her buffet in Harrah's Tunica. DH and I drove down on Monday to check things out. The buffet was remodeled to look like Paula's home and was beautifuly done. Lots of different rooms and .... wow... the food was outstanding! I'm used to typical casino buffet food and this food was all fresh and not mass produced. There was a huge gift shop with all kind of things, I didn't buy anything but would have liked to.

We noticed some Paula Deen slot machines, but didn't got close enough to see what it was like. I guessing you had to line up PD dishes!
I wonder what a row of gooey butter cake is worth?:lmao:

:lmao: that's exactly what ran through my mind as I read the first line of your post. Looks like a road trip in the making.

Interesting. And the gooey butter cake rows? They're a win for Paula and Company every time.

I saw the comml for this and wondered immediately... is Tunica closer to me than Savannah???? :rotfl:

Yes, folks, I do drive 4 hours for Paula's food!! :thumbsup2

Oh, goody! Glad to hear this. I'm taking my inlaws to Tunica next week and we're staying at the Grand/Harrahs. I was hoping her new buffet would be much better than what was there before.

Thanks for the review.

By the way, do you remember the prices for the meals?

I know that we payed $17.99 pp on Monday, I don't know if that was a Holiday rate or not. I'll call in a minute and update the price for you.
It was worth every penny!

It's the first I've heard of it, thanks for mentioning it. I like Paula. :)

You're better off driving to Savannah- it would take 6 hours and 40 minutes to get to Tunica from ATL!

Where is Tunica?

We just stopped by Savannah a couple of weekends ago on our way home from Hilton Head. We walked through the store and bought a few things. We were too hungry to wait for the next available time so we didn't get to eat there this time. I really wanted to though! I think we will be going back to Savannah this summer so I am hoping that we can wait this time!

I've been thinking about making the drive to Tunica to eat at Paula's. Thank you for the review. It would be a nice weekend trip for me.

Here are the prices

Breakfast is $8.99
Lunch is $10.99
Dinner is $17.99
Lobster nights..usually Friday and Saturday...$22.99
Sunday brunch $19.99

If you haven't been to the Grand/Harrahs in awhile, it now looks totally different.
The remodel is really nice. Some new games to play now. Good Luck!

If you click on the link you'll see a photo of Paula. Click on the links below the photo to see a few renderings. The parlor is where we ate.

Thanks! I would like a different place to go, though... and Tunica sounds like fun! I'm wondering if it's a place for teens, though? Anyone know?

I'm glad the OP mentioned the food was fresh... I was wondering if it would be the quality of the buffet at Lady and Son's.... I feel a ROAD TRIP a comin' soon!! :car:

Don't picture Las Vegas here, picture miles of cotton fields with 9 casinos placed here and there:laughing:

To find anything to do for fun for kids, you have to drive to Memphis.
Although Harrah's does have a pool and a kids game room (big) with video games and such.

I see alot of families there though, I'm guessing they do siteseeing by day and gamble at night.

I just found out recently that Father Hank, the priest at my church, is Paula Deen's BIL !! Father Hank actually went to the opening and blessed the restaurant. Now that I've seen a picture of Paula Deen's husband, Michael, and Father Hank, the resemblance is crazy.

That's so neat... I wonder if she's ever cooked a meal for him.

It is 40 miles southwest of Memphis TN.

Wouldn't a Paula Deen resturant in Downtown Disney be great!

Thank you!

I am in for the DTD - that would be awesome!!! Although I don't think me eating there every weekend would be good for my diet!!
