Sunday 23rd September
Today we had planned a quiet morning at our resort, followed by lunch at the Turf Club and MK for the evening, the weather had other ideas. We decided to head to Downtown Disney after breakfast and have a look around World of Disney before lunch.
Ruth wanted to take the boat to Saratoga Springs so we headed down to the dock and the boat was in, we got ourselves comfy, then just as we were due to depart the captain heard thunder. With the boat going nowhere and 30mins to our ADR at the Turf Club we decided that we had better drive round. We walked back to the car and made the short trip onto Disney Vacation Club Way (Ruths favourite road) and into our DVC Home resort.
We parked in the Springs area and walked past High Rock Springs pool on our way to the restaurant.
We were seated straight away, as we sat deciding what to eat, the heavens opened and we were glad we hadnt walked.
For lunch Ruth had her usual Crab Cakes (which shes addicted to)
followed by the Spiced Salmon Salad
and the New York Style Cheesecake for dessert (which she describes as yummy)
I went for the Onion Rings & Dips
with the Ribeye Steak Sandwich for entrée
and the Chocolate Lava Cake to finish
After our lunch we wandered around our home resort before heading back to Downtown Disney for some more shopping.
Since the weather wasnt looking too good, we popped down to the Lake Buena Vista Outlet Mall to pick up some jeans. On our way back to Coronado Springs we were driving past Pop Century and decided to have a look around having never stayed there. We were quite impressed with the resort, its very colourful. We wandered around the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s buildings which were all very well themed.
We had a look at the displays in the check-in area which brought back memories. As we were about to leave the heavens opened so we decided to have a coffee at the food court, we were also impressed with the food court as there was quite a large selection of different types of food to suit most tastes. We both agreed that if we ever stay in a value resort then this would be the one.
When the rain stopped we walked back to the car and drove back to Coronado Springs and had a counter service dinner at the Pepper Market. Ruth had the Fettuccine with Mushroom Sauce and Chocolate Cake while I went for the Bourbon Chicken. I was too full for a dessert so I decided to pick up a Danish for tomorrow morning instead.
After dinner we returned to our room and decided to have an early night since we have an early start tomorrow.
