Yes I just called a man beautiful. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Watching CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF with my Mom and I can hardly listen to the dialogue when he's on the screen. :lmao: Paul Newman's face is absolutely mesmerizing.

And a black and white picture proves it's way beyond his blue eyes.

Why can't you lose your good looks, Brick? Most drinking men lose theirs. Oh Elizabeth. :goodvibes

Not looking at a fire doesn't put it out. Good line! :thumbsup2

When Burl Ives is on all I can think about is Rudolph. That's too ridiculous.

I can't wait for a scene I did in grade ten drama.

I'm trying to think whose face I stare at like that nowadays. Wait, I know. Probably Dolvett on the Biggest Loser. I just get transfixed. Or Blair Underwood.

You, then and now?

I LOVE that movie! I just love Tennessee Williams plays in general. And yes Paul Newman was stunning! I saw it for the first time in my theater history class. All us girls and gay boys were swooning over him!

In person, I would guess that it got tiresome somewhat for Mr. Newman. I can only think that people must have simply stared and stared. Some faces are just like that. It's even beyond handsome/beauty.

It's like you're taken somewhere. Dolvett's face like that for me, as well.

Maybe some people have one spectacular feature but others you don't even know where to look. :rotfl2:

You know who was hot? (This may qualify me as insane). James Garner. Just saw an old movie and was like "wow"!

My daughter and her friends used to laugh at me when I told them that Paul Newman and Sean Connery were two of the best looking men on the planet.

I have to agree with with the pp about James Garner as well.

Count me in on all three! Plus with Paul Newman you had to love the chemistry between him and Joanne Woodward off screen. I saw an interview in their home and she kept eavesdropping from the kitchen wondering what he was saying. As I recall he deliberately spoke quietly because he knew.... bugger!

At any age Paul was good looking, my first movie date with my Future DH was The Sting. Between him and Robert Redford that movie was quite the eye candy. So was Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.

Amen, E! :thumbsup2

Paul Newman was the first movie star that I ever fell in love with and didn't he age well.:goodvibes
AND a great actor! So sad he is no longer with us. :worried:

My favorite Paul Newman movie is Exodus.

Okay, this is the best I can find for standing and broad:

And this is the comment that someone left about him on that youtube find:

"Garner's lived quite a life...grew up dirt poor...physically abused by his step mom...abandoned by his father...homeless and on his own as a teen...nearly killed TWICE in Korea...screwed ROYALLY by Jack Warner (his stand in made more than he did on Maverick!)....married a woman 2 weeks after meeting her in 1956 and they're still married and head over heels is love to this day..".

Wow, eh?

I always thought that part of Paul's charm was that he and Joanne stayed together. Being faithful is sexy!

I would add Henry Fonda also…though Jane has given TMI on his personality. :lmao:

Ummm, I believe Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward got together through an affair. He did have a first wife and family.

You got me there, but the fact the he and Joanne stayed together is pretty unusual for Hollywood. He apparently changed his way after they got together.
