He sure did, and I knew it wouldn't be long before he passed, as he was looking bad...he retired from Acting a few years back, and than, sadly, from his beloved race car driving...he knew his time was limited and lived his life to the fullest...Joanne should be a Model Wife for sticking with him thru the good and bad times of thier lives.......Faith
Paul Newman was a great humanitarian, a great actor, and a fine gentleman. I've had a crush on him since I was a kid. "Cool Hand Luke" was my favorite movie of his. I will miss his smile and his blue, blue eyes! May you rest in peace Mr. Newman. My heart goes out to Joanne Woodward.
I loved Newman and Redford together. Such a great actor. I had heard he had cancer and the last picture I saw of him you could tell how frail he was. He wasn' into the whole Hollywood scene, he raised his family away from all the nonsense, he stayed married to the same woman, and was a charitiable man...he will be missed.
Just saw it as well, I can't think of anything I've seen him involved in that I didn't like. I am pretty sure that it is because of his off-screen persona more than his on. A true class act, and his family as well. JoAnne Woodward and he are a rare delight and the world has lost one of the best.
Very sad, indeed.

Very well said.
Paul Newman was my first "crush". The most beautiful eyes. First movie I ever saw him in was "Cool Hand Luke". Crushed all over again as an adult when "Color of Money" came out.
Lost a good one today. Will miss those sparkling blue eyes and the generosity of spirit. As a parent, I'm going to use this as a teaching moment about following one's dream-acting,love,charity,racing and having a quality life. R.I.P. Paul.

I was watching Cool Hand Luke on Turner Classic Movies this morning. What a great movie.

The Color of Money
The Hustler
The Young Philadelphians
Exodus
Hud
The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
I remember seeing him in The Silver Chalice when I was a kid and thinking what beautiful blue eyes he had....I think it may have been part of what makes me like men with blue eyes so much to this day.
