Paul McCartney vs. Heather Mills McCartney

I honestly rarely follow celebrity gossip, but the McCartney situation has infiltrated standard news sites now.

For those of you who may not have heard, Heather Mills McCartney is claiming in her divorce filings that Paul was very physically and mentally abusive to her throughout their four year marriage and lists several sure-to-be-humiliating-for-Paul instances. They have a two year old daugher caught in the middle of the mess.

Now, maybe it's just because I'm in my 40's, but I can't shake my loyalty to Paul. Is it possible he's personally such a monster, yet he and Linda (1st wife) had such an ideal marriage for---how many years until she died? Could he be such a monster and yet his grown children are devoted to him? Also, Heather Mills McCartney's own father came out and said he thinks it's a bunch of lies and that, even though he's talking about his own child, knows that she's just trying to get as much money as she can.

Poor Paul never got a pre-nup because he thought it was a negative way to begin a marriage. Surely, after only 4 years, he can't be expected to pay out the $$millions of dollars she's believed to be demanding.

When he and John wrote,"When I'm Sixty-Four", I'm sure he couldn't have imagined that his reality at 64 would be this awful.

It's a nightmare and like you, I lean on the side of Sir Paul. We all saw him go thru pure heck with Linda, and how devoted he was to her. I actually hoped that he found a match in Heather, but doubted it deep down inside.

I hope this all straightens out, for the baby's sake. Ugh, what a mess.

I agree with you. His kids warned him and he didn't listen. Now I have to believe that they weren't worried about any inheritance since he has more than enough money. I think that they saw Heather for what she was.

I think it has to do more with the fact that he married a skank with nooooo morals that will do ANYTHING to bring him down with her. I mean really....she was a "party girl" for rich Arabs.....that translates into high paid prostitute. He should have known better - lay down with dogs and get up with fleas.

I side with Macca on this one. His marriage and family with Linda was in the public eye. By all reports, it was a loving and supportive marriage, with no allegations of abuse.

And certainly, with the dogged paparazzi in Great Britain, some allegations of abuse would have surfaced. Heck, the British paparazzi told the whole world that Prince Charles aspires to be Camilla's sanitary product. Surely they would have uncovered abuse in Macca's marriage over 30+ years.

I can't believe a man that had a great marriage for over 30 years under public scrutiny can all of a sudden become such a monster.

I wasn't around when the Beatles were hot, and have never really had much interest for them since. However, I think I'm falling on Paul's side on this one.

Heather seems to be a vengeful and vindictive person. I don't believe the stuff that's coming out of her mouth. Seems like she is doing what she can to get as much money as she can out of him.

She needs to keep her trap shut and keep this out of the papers for thier childs sake.

I hope Paul wins and see ends up with less then he originally offered her.

I'm sorry, but if he'd attacked her with a glass bottle (as claimed), surely she'd have scars? I'm not buying it.

I've never like Heather though and always thought that she was a bit off, and I don't think that much of the UK like her anyway (the porn pictures that emerged a while back haven't really helped her public image either). A reporter also called Heather Mills is claiming that Paul's Heather stole her identity over a period of about a year so that she could have access to certain interviews or something.

I'm not much of a Paul McCartney fan, but Heather is just slimy (IMO).

Beyond my prejudice, the above is what settles it for me.

1) You can't convince me that would have gone on over a 30 year period and not even a rumor of it would come out - which it didn't.

2) This claim is probably completely refutable, placing all the other claims in doubt if they weren't already.

I'll vote "witch".

BTW - the "Karma" thing makes no sense at all. Bad thing happens to people that dont' deserve it all the time.

Yesterday I saw on E! and Fox News that it is believed the papers with these allegations are fakes because they aren't dated or signed. I believe the papers are fake, but I believe that Heather's camp produced and "leaked" them.

I am a Paul McCartney fan - I have the Wings record albums to prove it! Heather Mills has a history of instability - volatile relationships, affairs, broken engagements, and this will be her 2nd divorce. The British tabloid media is vicious. If Paul McCartney was as nasty as Mills wants everyone to believe, it would surfaced long before now. Edited to add: I don't believe PM was abusive towards Linda. There has never been anything to suggest they had something other than a loving and caring relationship for each other.

Mills ran away from home as a young teenager and lived on the streets of London. Come on, you have to be pretty tough to live on the streets of any large city! People like that don't take s*** off of anybody. If her allegations were true (because I do believe she leaked these papers), she would have left the first time he did something "abusive" towards her.

Bottom line - I wouldn't believe a word Heather Mills said if her tongue came notarized!

I will also add that Heather Mills's father said that she accused him of hitting her and that was also untrue.

I remember Paul being on Howard Stern and said that he and Linda were never away from each other one night during their marriage. Now if someone is abusing you, wouldn't you have spent at least one night away from them?

Heather is a liar and a manipulator. Take a good, long look at her face sometime...I think I can see the viciousness in her.

As for the McCartney divorce, I think this latest story is part of Heather's attempt to gain sympathy for herself, by portraying herself as an abused wife.

I don't think it is working.

It sounds like she has quite a record of not-nice behavoir. I knew that she did leave home young, so I'm not surprised that her dad had some unkind things to say about her.

I also read that a former boyfriend printed a long column in an English newspaper addressed to Paul, consoling him on being "Heathered".

Sadly, I think Beatice is going to be used as a bargaining chip for Heather. She's going to use the little girl to milk lots of $$$ from Paul.

LOL! I was thrilled to have met Paul and Linda in 1976 for a few minutes and even though I was a huge fan before I have been a bigger fan ever since. Heck, I've been married to DW for 26 years and I'll freely admit that I asked her out in part because she looks like Linda. So don't mess with my man Macca! Once a Beatles freak always a Beatles Freak I suppose.

BTW, did you read the claim she (Mills) made that he was smoking pot and it made him violent? How stupid does she think we are?
