Patterson Court news???

Hi guys,

does anyone have any nes or updates on the new Patterson Court?

I heard it was opening in the summer, then may, now august. anyone heard anything definate? They should know when it will open by now, surely?!

I have heard that it should be open for May, but I then I heard from somewhere else that it would just be for International CPs (which I hope is not true, as I want to stay there). So I have no idea. We may have to wait til May for news.

Well, I got a response back. The email said Patterson would be a mix of International and Regular CPs (like Vista and Chatham). It would not be for just one or the other. This is great!!

Well that's good Patterson's a mix. I felt bad for a lot of the International CP's I worked with, at the end of my Fall 07 program a lot of them were getting thrown around because of THV closing. The international students are there for a year....they deserve having a place they can call home without having to move around.

Well, Patterson Court should be opening up in phases. The last I heard, phase one will be opening at some point in May, with a very sizable number of spaces for participants. I had a friend drive by the site the other day, and she said that it looked remarkably complete, much more so than in January (and I thought they were pretty far along at that point).

I can't wait until the first pictures of the rooms start popping up! I hope the PI check-in is there so that I can at least look around a bit. It would be fun to live with the IPs, and really get to know people of different cultures. This is making me want to do another CP!

I'm from england and on my 1st program lived with a french guy and a guy from Hong Kong and a few others from england. i loved living with people from other countries. On my 2nd program all of my room mates were from either england or ireland so it wasn't as interesting! I'm hoping i get some room mates from other countires for my 3rd program!

I hope they put up pictures, because even though it is newer doesn't mean that it is nicer! It could have smaller rooms or less ammenities.. do they have any info out on this yet? I'm not trying to be negative by any means but I don't want to jump on something just because it's new!

When completed in the summer of 2008, the new complex will feature 288 units and accommodate almost 1,300 program participants. The plans include four educational classrooms, a pool, fitness center, computer lab, laundry facilities, outdoor grill, clubhouse and a car wash area.



Patterson Court will feature high-speed Internet access in each unit and an enhanced security guard shack. There also will be an increased number of parking spaces for each unit based on feedback from former participants and data from the last several years.

More parking would be nice. Not that it was TOO bad at chatham though.

Seriously though, progress is rapidly happening on PC, I feel like its more complete each and every day. Which is likely true, if only based on the noise in the morning =P

It is but...it may be beneficial. My car never got washed once while I was down there...
