Did anyone catch any of the Giants parade yesterday? Dare I say I watched some of it. (insert throw up smilie here).

I find it so interesting that the Giants fans complain about a lack of class in the Pats organization. I don't ever recall the Pats (in their 3 Superbowl wins parades) being negative about the team they beat. As a matter of fact, the team was complimentary about how well their opponent played and how they were going to come back for another win next year. The didn't throw out nasty comments and certainly weren't insulting.

Amazing amount of hypocricy at the Giants parade yesterday. It was absolutely disgusting how negative and rude they were. They won and should be happy, why the ignorance? Oh, I know Belicheck must have made them do it.

Just had a rant a little. My husband was so ticked off at obnoxious they were yesterday, but I said "hey, I'm going to post this on the Dis to see if anyone (PATS FANS) caught any of the parade." Maybe I'm being oversensitive? Either way, it just confirmed even more how much I appreciate Bellicheck and my Pats. :)

I didn't see any of it. Either you love the Pats or you hate them. This has been a really hard football season for Pats fans.... trying to defend the team and coach.... I'm exhausted :lmao: Looking forward to baseball season!:thumbsup2

I'm happy for Eli Manning... now he has a superbowl ring just like his brother. Peyton is so adored and practically worshipped it must be hard to be the "kid brother".

Believe it or not, I actually like the Mannning brothers and they seem like a nice family. I just don't get why a team would celebrate by being negative. Be happy that they won and enjoy the moment (it might be the last time they are there).

Yes, time for baseball, and we still have the Bruins. I can't get into Basketball, no matter how hard I try.

Here's a Giants fan weighing in.

I watched the first two hours but had to leave before they began the ceremony. I saw the highlights and loved it. Strahan leading the team in "stomping" the Pats was hysterical.

This Superbowl was all about how the Pats were going to have the perfect season led by the perfect quarterback under the leadership of the perfect coach. There was the 19-0 book that was on pre-sale about this perfect season, all of the hype was always focused on the Pats and the inevitable win.

No one gave the Giants a chance (except for those of us who knew this was a team that had the heart to get the job done.) Whether you like it or not, they had every right to celebrate the way they did.

So count me among the ignorant and rude New Yorkers who is beyond thrilled that the Giants "stomped" the Pats. :dance3:

Just an aside, my DH was at the Superbowl when the Panthers lost. (Our son interned with them at the time.) DH couldn't believe it when the Pats fans started chanting 'Yankees suck' as they were leaving. :confused3

I never underestimate the underdog. The Pats were underdogs for many years, as a matter of fact their first win they had "no chance."

I congratulate the Giants on their win. They just played a better game and deserved the win, plain and simple. Plus, I'm not one of those fans that didn't show up to work on Monday out of mourning. It is only a game.

What I don't care for is that they (the Giants team in general) complained that the Pats organization is "classless" and the Giants did exactly what they complained about. Not once in the Pats Three Superbowl wins, do I ever recall them being rude to the opponent they "stomped." It's just hypocritical.

I say congrats to the Giants fans (honestly), but why not have a positive celebration, instead of being negative. To me, it takes away from the win.

Not a fan of either team really and I didn't see any of the celebration - so what did the Giants do/say? What did the fans do/say?

They made reference to if you lived in Boston, you'd be wearing black to the funeral today. This is for all the teams that we beat, especially you the Patriots. I have to give to to Eli though...he showed class as expected.

They made up a little dance "we stomped you out of here Pats..." pretty juvenile.

If you are interested, I bet it's on Youtube by now.

ITA.

I went to the parade yesterday, but not the ceremony. I caught that on TV later, and way to go Strahan. The Giants weren't given a chance by the media et all up to the night of the game. Everything was already written as destiny.

Well, on that Sunday, the Giants played the best game and won! It's a proud day in Giants history, and we're gonna celebrate!

Strahan and the defense played an amazing game, and they did stomp the Pats. They hit them hard every play from the first whistle to the last. They didn't let up, and they showed the world that they deserved to be in the SB, not a fluke, and that they can beat the Pats.

It was great!!!! Strahan was at the podium and when he talked about 'stomping' the Pats, he and his teammates jumped in unison. He's such a great guy. When my son was at the Pro Bowl the year the Panthers were coaching the game, he told Strahan that his Dad is a huge Giants fan. Later on he brought DS a ball signed by him and the other Giants at that game to give to DH.

This is one classless and juvenile New Yorker who saw 'the stomp' and thinks it was priceless. :teeth: :dance3:

I'm not a fan of either team but from what you are describing, this doesn't sound classless or bad in anyway. In fact, it sounds typical of what I have witnessed in all types of sports when the "underdog" wins. They are proud. While they may be flaunting their win and their excitement, I don't think it is derogatory in anyway. But, I can see if your team lost, you might be a tad sensitive to it.

How is that the Pats fault? Should they have tried to lose agame or 2 during the regular season so people wouldn't have been expecting them to win?

I'm not surprised by anything this season. The Pats have been so un-cocky and just going with the flow. They gave credit to every team they played before and after the game. I don't understand all the hate for them at all. Only thing I can imagine is people don't like Belichick, which I can understand.

FTR - No one gave the Pats a chance against the Rams in the 1st SB they won. After the gane, none of the Pats orginization had anything but nice things to say about the Rams.

I didn't watch it but the husband did. He normally has nothing much to say in regards to the actions of professional sports' players. Yesterday was the exception. I can't write down what he said about the Giants on this board but I was pretty shocked that he was so upset about the goings on at the parade.

I said the SAME EXACT THING to my DBF last night. They were very obnoxious and I do not remember the Pats ever acting in a disrespectful way regarding the losing team after they won. :sad2: They know they aren't the best team and just played a great game ;) Like I tell my children, they must be insecure and feel they have to put someone else down in order to make themselves feel better! :rolleyes1

Here's Strahan's stomp on You Tube:

Oh please, everyone, including the team, thought the Pats had this thing in the bag, sewn up, signed, sealed and delivered. It was the smugness, the mindset that "of course we were going to win" that permeated everything. :sad2:

When Antonio Pierce was interviewed, he said the Pats were inviting them to their victory party, etc. and that you can't tempt fate that way.

This is New York. Call us classless, call us juvenile, call us rude, call us anything you want just as long as you end it with "SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!"

Saying the Giants stomped you out(which they did) really doesn't compare to the year long pompous nature of the Pat's. Come on now Copyrighting the phrase 19-0! Don't count those chickens comes to mind.

I am proud of the determination the Giants showed. And with Heart anything is possible. That is a lesson I am proud to teach my children!

Oh and do you really think a Pat's fan would have enjoyed that parade anyway? No big surprise to hear the complaining.

Can you find one quote by anyone in the Patriots organization stating anything to that effect?

How about "Were only going to score 17 points?"

1.How is that saying they're going to win?
2.If we're gonna start quoting things said on media day, then I guess we can start planning a wedding for Tom Brady and the reporter who shows every year in a wedding dress and proposes to every player.
3.That quote was in response to something Plaxico Burress said. What was Brady supposed to say - "Yeah, that sounds about right."

The Giants Stomp sort of reminded me of Hobs Doing the Sac Dance on the Chargers Logo. Short Memory Pat Fans.

First the Pats players were never pompous, they never made predictions...

Second of all, they might have TRIED to copyright that phrase, but they were too late, a fan of one of the teams actually got to it first... so there ya have it, they weren't quick enough to even get the copyright...
