We're moving into an apartment with a lovely, large balcony at the end of this month, and would like to buy some nice patio furniture. Does anyone know if outdoor furniture goes on sale at this time of year (early September), or would it be worth it to wait a few weeks?

Thanks in advance!

Target, Home Depot and Lowes have already been clearancing out their patio furniture for the past couple weeks. So based on that, I'd assume most other stores are as well. I'd probably swing buy and check out the prices and inventory left now, and then make a decision based on that. If there's still a lot left, I might wait and see if prices lower even farther in the next couple weeks. If it's already picked over and inventory is low, I'd probably just buy then, if they had something I wanted.

I would look on Craigslist if you are in a major metro area. I got some beautiful pieces this way for Target prices, but high end furniture store quality.

Thank you all for your replies! I guess we'll go out and look this weekend. I thought it would be smart to wait till after we move (less stuff for the movers), but I don't want to take the chance of missing it all together.

I wouldn't wait much longer - most of the stores in the NE have already had sales and clearance for weeks - and a lot is sold out.

Try Fortunoff's they sell nice furniture and the sales are good right now (along with the sale prices I think they have free chairs and umbrellas when you buy a set)
