Patiently Waiting for DVC Member Card!

I signed my paperwork for DVC in March and closed on June 7. I received my Temporary card in March and was able to use it when I went to Disney in May (with some difficulty, but I got my discounts ) Anyway...my temp card expires on July 3rd and I still have not received my card. I spoke to MS last week and they told me to wait. She also asked me if I was planning a trip soon. I told her no I wasn't until November her response got me a little ticked off she told me what's the rush you have no use for that card until November. What ...that's not the point! I want my DVC card to be official. Doesn't she know that I have already cleared a space in my wallet for that card!! Anyway the point is I should have had my card already. Anyone else still waiting for their card?

Oh and BTW....I just received my deed and Title Insurance. That usually takes forever...but I managed to get that before my DVC card.

Call your guide instead of MS, he or she should be of more help to you.

I closed last week of May and I got my Membership cards earlier this week. I also recieved my deed and title today.

Maybe you'll be in the next batch since you seemed to close only week after me.

Some of these MS CMs are so dense, and try to use logic, when they're obviously no good at it. The rush is you want to caress it and feel the power now. The DVC membership card is the stuff that dreams are made of. It's yours and you want it. I don't see a problem with your position. I would talk to someone else who gave me a more satisfying answer.

Our DVC temporary membership cards expired June 26th. We are planning a trip the end of July and I am still patiently waiting for the permanent cards to arrive!

The CM told me not to worry, we'll get them sooner or later!

We closed and received our title in March.
Yesterday we received a new 2005-2006 Vacation planner and new member handbook. I'm hoping the cards will follow.

I called MS and asked the same thing....and I got a similar response...."what's your hurry?" and I have to admit the tone and the lack of assistance really got to me so I suggested that maybe I should buy RCI points instead of an add on from Disney with my guide -I was just mad- so I wished her a Magical Day and hung up.....well not an hour later I get a call from my guide that MS had called him and he wanted to make sure I wasn't upset and he would take care of it.....moral of the story CALL YOUR GUIDE, my experience to date has been that MS is the only bad part of DVC.

We purchased Easter Week in March. Sent our paperwork and remainder of down payment in May. Got our financing approval notice in the beginning of June and received our membership cards the end of last week. We are suppose to close in August once the certificate of occupancy is finalized and our UY is September. I made reservations a week after we purchased for our first trip home during New Years.

Hang tight, I'm sure they're on their way.

I closed around March 12th and just got my card a couple of weeks ago.

We closed in April and never got our cards until June. It took a phone call to MS to ask about the delay. We were told that the cards should be coming "soon" but that she would check again. Two weeks later they arrived in our mailbox with a postmark that showed they had been mailed right after the phone call.

I would call your guide and see if you can get any help there. We had a similar problem last year when we joined. I simple phone call to our guide and we had them in about 10 days. Good luck!

Interesting that this is still a problem. We bought in initially in July '03, our temporary cards expired in November and we didn't get our permanent cards until February '04, so 7 months all in all. It took 3 MS calls in that time period to get them.

So I guess on Tuesday morning I will call my guide.

Ya know I was thinkin maybe we should all call on Tuesday morning and see where the heck our cards are. Maybe that will get someone in the mailroom licking stamps.

Quite frankly I am going to south Florida on the 14th and who knows I may get and itch to go up to the world.

I just had to order a replacement card and was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks! I know how you feel about have a space ready in your wallet. Mine has a vacant spot that has been filled since 1992! My card finally broke in half and I had to toss it out. Other than being proud to be a card carrying member, I have never been asked to present a card as proof of membership. I agree with other posts, give your guide a call. Our guide, Megan is a teriffic person and just plain friendly. She replaced our original guide several years ago, but you'd think she had know us forever! We stopped by just to visit her on one of our trips and left with 100 SSR add-on points! She has always been very helpful. If It takes longer than 6 to 8 weeks to get my card, I'll be giving her a call! By all means, stop by and ask for you guide if you are near DVC! They are stiil there to help, even well after the sale!!

I called for a replacement card in mid March, it did not arrive until mid May after I called a second time, so about 8 weeks. I called again in late April because I had a trip coming up May 7 to 13. They told me to stop by the SSR sales center for a temporary card! The card I had was coming apart but was still usable so I didn't bother. I can't even remember using it during the trip.

I closed 20 days ago, and I was sent new cards for ALL my contracts Just give me the member number so I can make reservations, that's what I wanted.

I called my DVC rep the other day and she was very surprised that I hadn't received my card yet. She called today to let me know that they are on the way. She told me that there is a new company that is printing/sending them out....so they are having some problems.

We'll see when I get the darn thing.

i closed in june and anxiously am awaiting my card! just for the satisfaction of knowing everything is done, and the deed would be nice too!
