Pathway to DD from OKW - clarification, please

Hello, all,
I followed the lovely directions posted here for the pathway to Downtown Disney from OKW. I had no problem, until I got to the LBV golfcourse area. I could see Cirque in the distance, and I wanted to follow the path to the right, but a sign said "golf carts only."

So, I went left over the bridge, and there I was presented with a choice. Go straight into the Treehouse Villas area, or go right onto a twising golf cart path.

I took the twisty golf cart path, walked past the clubhouse and then turned left following the canal with the Disney Institute main buildings on my left, then past the townhouses (losing the sidewalk at times) until I reached the road that leads directly to the Market Place end of DD.

Not a terrible walk, but certainly not a 20 minute one either. Took me nearly 40 minutes at a good pace.

So, where did I go wrong? Could I have gone on the cart path towards Cirque? Should I have gone straight once over the bridge?

Thanks!! It's a pleasant walk, and I'd like to do it right next time.

It's slightly confusing the first time. You could have continued on toward the Cirque du Soleil. This path takes you to the West Side. If we go over the bridge towards DI, we end up walking in the parking lot. We walked this path several times this trip.

As already mentioned, when you reach the practice green, just pretend you are a golf cart and follow the path another 15 yards to the sidewalk which surrounds the Cirque parking lot.

By walking over the bridge, you ended up at DI- which as you found out, also takes you to DD- just the other end. Either way works! (Going thru DI is a little quicker to DD/Mktplc.)
