I used the patch on our 3day this past November cruise to the Bahamas on the Dream. It worked great!

We booked a 7day next November. If it worked for the 3day then will it still work on the 7day? I know I have to replace it after 3 days, but am concerned about the longer cruise making me sicker as some have reported with feeling dizzy after getting off the boat after longer cruises.

I believe it's called Mal de Barquement (sp?). Anyone have experience with this or medications to prevent it. Thanks! I want to try the 7day, but also try to prevent seasickness and mal de bargquement after I get off the ship as well.

Hi,

I had issues with seasickness, not naseau, more pressure and just "not right" on our four-day Bahamian cruise. On our 7 day Alaskan, my doctor gave me the patch. I did not have a single minute of anything negative at all the entire cruise. I did not know (until just reading your post) that it is supposed to be replaced after a few days. I wore the same patch for the entire trip. Worked like a charm! I had post-cruise motion issues for about 4 days. (DH never gets sea-sick, didn't wear a patch, and had post-cruise motion for about 1.5 days.)

So... Mexican Riviera, 7 day: wore the patch again. Again, not a single second of any issues. HOWEVER, post-cruise: wow, did I have a prolonged cruise! I had issue with my world suddenly going - whoosh - for almost a month. On the couch. Walking around at work. Sitting in restaurants. It was bad. It DID finally go away, but for a bit there I thought it might never leave. Again, DH had no issues onboard and was done rockin' about 2 days post-cruise.

Hope this helps,
Dreams

Talk to your Dr. Some people have reported side-effects of the patch to be similar to what you experienced.

I had problems with that when I cruised in the past and used the patches. This time around I started 2 Dramamine 3 days before the cruise, I took 2 every night on the cruise and I wore the PSi bands (get them at RiteAid), I also used the homeopathic motion sickness pills during the day. I only experienced motion sickness once and it went away shortly after laying down. The best part is....Very little after cruise waviness! I also read that taking Zyrtec helps you with that feeling, so I took some the morning I disembarked.
