Pat Robertson comments....AGAIN!

Guess God must have had it in for Dick Clark, too. Do you think He hates rock and roll, or does He hate funny home videos? Or was it the $25,000 Pyramid that ticked him off?

Nope....the common factor here is........

Ed McMahon!!

Dick Clark worked with him last on all those Blooper shows, and before that it was Johnny Carson....
If I ever appeared on Star Search I'd be awfully nervous right about now!!!!

I wonder how many people in the 700 Club had strokes and have different feelings now. He has to realize that many of his followers have had strokes right?
That'd require him to stop and think before he speaks. With PR, it's typically open mouth, change foot.

How does the saying go....Better to remain silent and appear to be ignorant, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt? :earseek:

Just a thought... provide Rev. Robertson with some valuable feedback here. It probably won't stop him from blurting out whatever he thinks in the future, but at least they'd know that not everyone supports these kinds of remarks. I already submitted my feedback -- although you're limited to about 15 lines or 650 characters.

Pat Robertson’s comments disgust me. As a Christian myself, it embarrasses me to think that some people might believe that we’re all like him.

He gives Christians a bad name.

Sooner or later we're all going to die, including Pat Robertson. Wonder what he'll do to have offended God when his time comes? All those miners were Christian, what did they do to offend God? Has Robertson opined on that?

Fortunately I think most people don't think this nutjob represents most Christians. I don't. But it saddens me that there are some naive people looking for faith and leadership and are getting their ideas and philosophies from this fruit loop.

Where are all those conservative groups who worry about "family values"- the ones who get outraged at South Park, The Book of Daniel, and at other shows when THIS guy says something offensive? You never see them getting angry at the 700 Club. Interesting.....

Sadly, PR still has clout despite his chronic "foot in mouth" disease. Therefore, other conservative groups don't speak out against him. It's not that they agree; I think it's more out of fear of retribution from PR and his organization/followers. Is it hypocritical? Certainly... to point out a speck of dirt in someone else's eye while ignoring the 2 by 4 in your own eye is the height of hypocrisy. Given the status quo, I doubt that will change in my lifetime. :sad2:

Some might say that Pat Robertson is a terrorist that the United States is harboring.

I'm sure Hugo Chavez thinks so. ;)

Too bad. Best way for these gorups to get respect from somebody like me is to speak out against PR like GG said. Otherwise I'll just keep rolling my eyes everytime they speak up. No real values at all.

I can't stand the guy and I live in PR country. Don't ever fly into Norfolk International Airport. They rescently redid the terminals and they are now covered with information about the area. A very large section is dedicated to him and Regent University.

Unfortunately, Pat Robertson has the right in our country to put his ignorance on display for all to see. It's the price we pay for having the right of freedom of speech.

You know, I prefer to look at this another way. I would have said, "Fortunately, .....Pat Roberston....."

Why you ask, well we may not agree with anything Pat Robertson says but he not only has the right to call things the way he sees them, he served in the Marine Corps to ensure that we all will continue to have the right to speak our mind.

The way the poster worded this seem to suggest that if there was a way to do it, the poster would silence Pat Robertson.

Hey, if you don't like what he says, or you fear what he might say in the future, well just don't listen to him or read what others say about him, that way you reduce the risk you will be offended.

I'm confused....at what point did the man have credibility?

Well, he must seem credible to some folks, they send him big $$$. Kind of sad, when you think about it.

Pat's Little Red Choo-choo went chugging merrily around the bend YEARS ago. He's a nutcase.
