Honestly, personally, I never much cared for it. Some colors make it look okay, but generally I preferred the opaque shells on my electronics.

I used to have one of those "clamshell" Mac laptops (what I had was the light blue/aqua color). It was old and slow, but I liked the look so much I also used to have one of those Mac "all in one" desktops like in the picture, it was dark blue. Again, old and slow, but looked cool in the den
