How long have passports been taking lately?

i took mine into a passport office end of Aug and received it in 8-9 business days. If you mail it or go to receiving agent it could take upto 4 months, Definetely recommend to go to passport office. If you can, do the applications on line, as when you go to the passport office, you must tell them you did the on line application, then they will allow you into a separate line up which is must quicker then people bringing paper applications.

I am sure with fall around the corner, the offices will start getting backed up again. So the sooner you go, the better!

we went to the passport office in Kitchener last Friday. Took us a total of about an hour from start to finish and they claim we will have them in our mailbox within two weeks.
That was for our kids. For my wifes and mine last Feb, we did it at a post office in Barrie, mailed it in and it took about 7 weeks.
Reminder, make sure everything is filled out correctly. Signatures within the box.

I noticed you are in Brooklin... i am in Ajax I went to the whitby passport office and received the kids passports in just over a week.

Make sure you sign the forms the way you normally sign your name. I made the mistake of signing the forms with my full name (first,middle,last) and had to sign them again. Unlike the old passports, your signature(from the forms) will be printed on the same page as your picture!! I was so glad I re-signed.

warning- do not mail unless you don't need it for months!! Even the post office is considered mail and i hear, mailed applications are taking upto 4months!
