We live in the United States but are not American Citizens. In order to re-enter the country I have an advanced Parole document that allows me to do that . My husband's and daughter's visas are inside their Canadian Passports.

I am a tad paranoid of giving all of my stuff up on the cruise. Has anyone ever not got their original passports or INS documents back. I know it's probably a very silly worry, but INS has told us never to give the originals up. I don't know how we could possibly get around that though, if at embarkation they take your passports.

Anyone? Please alleviate my paranoia!

On other cruises, they only look at them, they don't take them, not sure if DCL is different, but I really don't think you give themto anyone. Just make sure your paperwork allows you to leave the US, I was on a trip once and leavingwasn't the problem, the person got held up coming back into the US, not sure what the problems were. But it wasn't pretty.

I'm under the impression that they only take NON US PASSPORTS to keep. And I do have the proper documentation to re-enter, I just don't want to give it to anyone!!

I know it's worrying, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. They took my husband's passport though he was able to keep his Green Card. Just make copies of your documents to keep in your in-room safe and trust Disney with the originals. Considering the times we live in, I'm sure they're as careful with them as they possibly can be.
