Just read the dis cruise web site and ime wondering if any one know's of the new passport regulations.
It seems that you now have to give pass port numbers in 75 days before you travel if you are re-entering the US from the Bahama's.
I dont know wether i read this write and i have got it wrong, my travel agent hasn,t mentioned this to me, they havn't asked for our passport numbers.

May be someone can shed some light on this for me. :earsgirl:

 Im not sure about this - noone has mentioned it but then again we have booked everything ourselves and do not have a travel agent?

Don't worry - Disney Cruiseline will take your passports when you check in and they will give you a photocopy, for use as ID for getting on and off at the ports if you have no other photo id with you.

On your last morning, you have to go down to the theatre at 6am to get your passport back and clear customs.

This appears to be new US Immigration rules coming into effect later this year. I think it mainly concerns US citizens as up until now they often have not needed a passport to visit certian Caribbean countries. If they need your details I am sure they will contact you in plenty of time.

Claire ;)

this applies to all passengers (not just americans) but only takes effect at the end of the year...
fo anyone sailing on December 28, 2006 or later (i.e. 2007)...

i'm sure that disney will begin to systematically ask for this from everyone who makes reservations for their cruises that are affected (again - only cruises from Dec.28, 2006 onwards....)

it's almost a full year away from now...

it mainly affects americans, since americans currently don't need a passport for travel to the Carribean.....but it also means non-americans will have to provide passport numbers in advance....

This will affect me when we take our DCL cruise in January 2007, thanks for letting me know, I would imagine that DCL will ask for the details as we have booked on-line with them anyway

Interesting to know if this is an immigration requirement...would this mean that people will no longer be able to book last minute cruises (ie inside of 75 days ) ? :confused3
