Do you carry the whole book with you to the parks or do you -*gasp!*- tear out the maps/pages you want for that day?

I got the spiral-bound version for a few specific reasons, but the one feature it has going against it vs. the deluxe is you can't neatly remove pages and then put them back in. I'm in a real debate over taking pages out (I'm a neat freak....HATE the thought of "ruining" my planner/trip journal!) or actually toting the whole book around with me. Am I going to hate the bulkiness of it worse than the thought of removing pages?!

My plan is to photocopy the maps, in color front and back so that they include the touring info.

I take it with me. I like to look through it while killing time waiting in lines, etc. However, I did leave it in the bottom of the stroller once and dh folded the stroller up and crushed the passporter. Needless to say...it wasn't a very happy ride on the Walt Disney World railroad that evening!

I bit the bullet and tore out the pages that I wanted with me each day. I saved them and slid them inside the book when we were done. I didn't want to carry the whole thing with me (although there were a couple of times I would have liked to look something up!).

While we are still at home I transfer the information for each day onto an index card and slip it in the pocket for that day.
When we go to the parks each day I take out that days index card. I can use the back of the card to make any notes, like what we ate, spent or special moments to remember. At the end of the day the card goes back into the pocket.
I would never tear out my passporter pages!

I take the info from my planner and pre-set it into my Palm Pilot. If I didn't have a Palm, I would photocopy the maps only if I have written notes on them or use index cards like Bev J does. :)

Just tear the pages out you want. It's not like you won't be buying a new one next year!!!! :rotfl:

Any of you buy the Treasure Hunt book? I just received it and was wondering what someone else thought about it. My kids are so excited! They thought it would be a great thing to do on the day of arrival by using the hunt for POR. My oldest even broke the family into two teams so we can compete. I wondered why my group had 2 instead of 3 and she said, "Mom, you have to count as two with as much as you know!" Too cute.

I'm glad you said that. I'm still debating with myself whether or not to buy it. grrrrr!

I have the PassPorter and I take it with me to the resort. Gives me something to read on the plane! :rotfl: This year, though, I have made index cards with all the pertinent info for each park, ride, resturant, and fun things about the particular park. Now that I have read the previous thoughts everyone has, I am wondering about maybe taking it in my backpack to the parks afterall!!! :rotfl: I know in the past that I have referred to it quite a bit in the parks. Has anyone ever taken the Steve Barrett book on Hidden Mickeys into the parks? These are alot of fun to look for in the parks and also in ques. pixiedust:

We did. We are gonna be there from June 19th through the 25th and I thought it would be fun to use while we were there. :cool1:

As far as the PassPorter goes, I've never torn the pages out. I generally bring the whole book and keep it in the stroller. I also have all our ADR info in my Palm Pilot as well as all of the menus and stuff. My Palm Pilot is always with me.

We're picking up from where you left off: June 26 - July 5! How funny! :rotfl:

I'm planning on taking the book with me, but I'm still taking the maps out for easy reference. I've numbered the rides, etc. on the map in the order that we plan to do them, and I'll have index cards where I can list any other important info.

Actually, a couple of my maps have 2 different ink colors on them for 2 different park days.

I just wanted to say, You guys are hard core!

I do some planning, and I use my PassPorter, but it never occured to me to actually carry it IN the parks! I write my ADRs on a piece of paper and grab a park map at the entrance and away I go.

I'm going to cut the maps out not "tear" them out - that way I should be able to tape them back in for all posterity!

Oooh!....I like that idea! I'd love to have the whole book with me and have a sling type backpack that I'll be bringing, but I just worry that the Sept. heat will foil that plan and I'll revert to the fanny pouch! It holds my digital camera and wallet, but that's about it.

I always take my Passporter with me on the trip, but never even thought about taking it into the parks. I just always get a park map and take off. All we usually do is to decide what big rides we will do first. I write down all the ADR's on an index card and that's about it! Honestly, I have the maps memorized anyway! :thumbsup2

I've been debating over wheter to take it to the park, but there is no way I'm tearing or cutting out pages. I paid way too much $$ for it to do that. :rotfl:

I have typed up a sheet for each day which I am going to shrink and laminate into "cards" and I'm going to tear out the map pages for each day and leave the passporter in the hotel room.

Ay yi yi - I can't believe I am so obsessed - I love it! So nice to see other people go to a lot of trouble, too! ha ha.
