Passporter, UOG 06 vs. 07, Tour guide Mike?.....

Hi, i'm wondering if you have several guides, or you just go with 1.

i have the UOG 06....is the 07 worth buying? the only thing i really "need" is the "best/worst days for each park" section, wondering if it's the same.

thinking of buying the passporter....i flipped through it at barnes and noble the other day, it looks neat. is there alot of info in there that i'm not getting from UOG?

also thinking of Tour guide Mike.....if i sign up, do i have unlimited access to his site until my trip is done?

I do a combonation of Passporter and TGM. I can have all my reservations in my Passporter and I keep it in my Baggillini. I can also tuck in my daily pages from TGM and I have the best of all possible worlds.

Passporter is a guide book, but it is written by true WDW fans who have experienced everything first hand. On our first trip, PORS 2003 it was an invaluable tool for helping to plan and then enjoy our trip . It also contains a section for keeping notes on each of your days, good quality maps of the parks, resorts and surrounding areas, web info as well as important phone numers and each ride, restaurant and resort is rated by three different people (Mom, Dad & Daughter) very fun !

I would recommend the Passporter to any WDW visitor, newbie or veteran. I still find fun facts about the World and this will be our 4th trip!

I second the Passporter! I bought my first one before we went on our May '06 trip - it was definitely worth the money. Gave lots of information and the section on keeping notes was wonderful - came in very helpful when we got home and I started our scrapbook.

I've already bought the 2007 edition (since I already have 2 trips planned (so far) for this coming year).

I bought the "official" guide at a Disney store last week and was kind of disappointed. Aside from room measurements, there was nothing there that I couldn't have learned here.

My UOG and Passporter arrived from amazon.com today, and I have almost already read the Passporter from cover to cover. I can't compare it to the UOG as I need my glasses for it and haven't cracked it open, but it's MUCH better than the OG. I think it looks great for memory-keeping and so forth as well.

If you've already got an 06 UOG, my guess would be that there's not a lot of difference. In the first paragraphs, which I guess I did read before deciding I'd need my glasses , they mentioned that aside from any "differences", the example stories and so forth would be the same as before, as they don't want to replace every single entry. Someone else might be able to weigh in on that score. Being my first guide purchases, I couldn't say if the new one is significantly different.

I do the same thing.
The Passporter is so handy and TGM is invaluable. Ditch the UOG, you'll get all that info from the Passporter and TGM.

I've tried the Official Guide, the Unofficial Guide, the Passporter, the EZ Fun Guide, and Tour Guide Mike.

As a WDW newbie, I found the UG indispensable. It's humongous, and has a ton of information, just like TGM's website. But I found it much easier to "navigate." I'm undecided as to whether I'll buy a new UG every time I go, but I'll definitely keep my subscription to their website for their crowd calendars. I trust these guys.

I found the Passporter also indispensable. Its maps were great, its reviews brief and to the point. And the "Passpockets" where you can keep your receipts and make notes of special memories from the day were absolutely wonderful. And great help in writing a trip report! I plan on buying a new Passporter for every trip.

I found the Unofficial Guide to be useless. The EZ Fun Guide was nice, but I ultimately didn't need it. It's a good read and the "not to scale" maps were actually nice for a newbie, but it's not something I expect to buy a new edition of.

Tour Guide Mike offers tons of information, but my first time around I just didn't have time - or, frankly, the inclination - to sift through it all looking for info not covered by the guide books I'd already read.

That said, I'm making use of TGM for my upcoming trip, and I'm finding that it's a good service. I particularly like the way he handles touring plans. (I still can't stand the way he inserts the user's name into paragraphs, though...it reminds me of reading a form letter.)

I am in the group that does the combination of TGM and Passporter. I use TGM for best days and park touring and then use Passporter to store all my infor and for a quick summary when someone in our traveling party wants to know about a particular attraction or dining establishment.
