We're making a spring break trip to DL - went a few years back to WDW and used the Passporter book to plan and remember everything. I see they have one for DL, but it's 2006 version - I assume it has info for the 50th celebration, would it still be worth it for a 2007 trip? The new version isn't due to be published until April and that's too late for us.

Thanks for the help :wizard:

Personally, I thought the DL passporter was a waste of money. I used it for our Sept 2006 trip and even by then a lot of the information was out of date. I found the Unofficial Guide and Birnbaums to be more informative and current.

I also learned that the research for the book was done more than a year before it was released with no return trips or additional research done for updated information. The book was originally supposed to be released in time for the beginning of the 50th, but kept getting put on the back burner in favor of other projects. Not exactly professional in my opinion.

I also bought the 2007 Birnabaum's and Unoffical Guide from amazon and they are very helpful Very good hints and I have confirmed alot of the stuff (ride closures, etc) on these boards. So for the price, I thought it was worth it...just my opinion!

I have the 2006 Unofficial Guide, and have read an older version of Birnbaums. And of course I've gotten a lot of information from the DIS.

Do you think it's worth it to buy a 2007 version (of either book)? There wouldn't be much difference, would there?

I was thinking of getting a 2007 version of another guide I'd read about, but I can't remember which one it was. I thought it was by a company that puts out a very well regarded WDW guide, and I think this was going to be their first DL guide... Sound familiar, anyone?

I think it depends on what you want to use it for.
If you want to use it for planning and organizing then the 2006 would still be great since you can get updated info from the Passporter website and other sources.

If you want it just for the more current attraction info and some updated reviews then the Unofficial Guide may be the better route.

I got the 2006 Passporter for the organizing aspect but checked out the UG and the Birnbaums guide from the library so I can use all 3 sources of info.

And I did like the review info in the Passporter because they used the perspective of a 1 yr old in many of their reviews which is relevant to me. Others may not need that. However, they still have the authors reviews as well as the "people's" reviews from whatever surveys they do.
