How long does it take for it to arrive, if you drop it at the office?

Also. Do you need a passport to fly from Buffalo to Minnesota.

thanks.

Right now you need a passport to fly into the states. Effective June 1st, you will need a passport to enter by land (driving) as well. You do not need a passport between Buffalo and Minnesota, but you'll probably need one to leave Canada...

Just did a renewal in person drop off at the office downtown Toronto. Should take 2 weeks they said.

You do not need a passport to fly from Buffalo to Minnesota (there's no need to prove citizenship for air travel within the USA.

However, come June 1/09 you will need a passport to cross the USA border in any manner (fly or drive). Currently, you only need a passport to fly across the USA border.

If you can go to the passport office, you can have your passport as soon as you need it if you can provide evidence that you will be traveling out of the country, for a fee. For example, my husband got his the day before we flew out last year because he had forgotten to get it done. It took only 5 business days, but it was based on when were flying out. A friend got one for her son done in under 6 hours.

I just took mine into the post office and payed for them to check it over and make sure everything was correct ($20) and had it back in exactly 2 weeks.

I got my son's back today....it was 1 day less than 2 weeks...they had told me it would be 3 weeks...so I was happy with that!

Wife and I went on the 9th of march to Hamilton office and were in and out in 15-20 min...go figure a goverment office and out quick...:lmao: .... we got them yesterday.... talk about mug shots.... i expectd to see pisoner numbers under each picture.....:rotfl2:

I don't like that the CDN passport is only valid for five years. Two years ago I had to renew and the mail in wait times were huge. Since I lived in the US I was able to drive to Windsor (about 5 hour drive) to apply for the renewal but because I lived in the US they couldn't mail it back to me. That meant another trip to Windsor to pick it up. Since it is only good for 5 years I get to do it all again real soon (or mail it early). However they wouldn't accept the photos I had taken in the US, even though they were the correct size. I was able to go down the street and get new ones taken though.

My DH and I went to the passport office in Whitby on March 14th and they were delivered registered mail yesterday March 24th. They told us they would be sent out March 30th so that was great!

I just dropped my application off today (Kitchener), and was told it would take up to 10 business days to arrive.

I dropped off our renewal forms at the passport office at Sheppard/Yonge on Wednesday March 18. I was told and there was signage that said that the passports would be delivered by express post on April 1. When I came home from work on Friday March 27 there was a notice on the door that the xpresspost driver had tried to deliver them at 9am. My husband went to the postal outlet and picked them up today.
