Passport Stamps

Doing the Norway/Iceland cruise this summer.

Is there some way to get stamps in our passports for the various countries we visit, but don't have to go through customs? I don't mind taking them off the ship and going somewhere.

My kid likes the stamps in his passport (and yeah, I do, too).

When we did that cruise this summer, the ship collected the passports and we automatically got stamps for Norway, Iceland, and the Orkneys.

That would be awesome. I'm always disappointed when we don't get a country stamp.

I would also like to do this for my Southern Caribbean cruise. Do you just take the passports to guest services?

On the WBPC Cruise, we visited Mexico and Columbia...no passport stamps. I TRIED!!! Especially for Columbia. I even emailed the Port Authority in Columbia and it was not possible to get a stamp at the port. On the other hand, they did give us a souvenir stamp for Panama...and we never even got off the ship there.

How about passport stamps in the Bahamas? This will be our kids' first trip with a passport and I think it would be cool to get them stamped!

In Nassau, you go to the reception desk at the Info Centre and they will direct you to the office for stamps. It was in another little building nearby at the end of a hallway. Really easy and you don't have to leave the main port section at all.

Does anyone know if on the Med cruises they will have places to get passports stamped? i know in Barcelona we will since we are flying into BCN. Rome (Civitavecchia) we are required to take our passports off with us (not sure if they will stamp it there though either) but not sure about Livorno (Florence), villefranche, or naples.

I wish I knew this. It was our first time out of the country. I would have loved to get stamps for Nassau.
We are doing Western Caribbean next year. Will we be able to get stamps for Cozumel, Grand Cayman or Jamaica? I assume there is nothing for Castaway Cay.

I think you're describing the same process, but it didn't feel easy for us. We had to ask the young soldier with the serious weapon where to go and he very seriously pointed it out. We went into the building, the quiet hushed not overly brightly lit, building, and walked all the way down the end of the hall, where we obviously interrupted the employees to make our request. They did it, but I'm not sure they love doing it.

Easier in grand Cayman because it was closer.

Someone asked about Southern Caribbean. Alas I don't know. It's possible a search in each "ports of call" forum on cruisecritic would find the answer. Frankly we totally forgot about it in December during our SCarib cruise.

But the process of the ship gathering the stamps that was mentioned here isn't done for Bahamas and Caribbean cruises.
