So I went to get my Passport pic taken today, and was told I couldn't smile, no teeth please!

What's up with that?

I didn't have any jewlrey on, but the gal told me if I did I had to remove it also....

Hmmmm

And $7.50 for the pic, and $125 for the passport seems a bit much! :confused3

I did get a free passport cover for getting my pic at Walgreens though!:cheer2:

Gotta love "Gift with Purchase"!!

No teeth? No smiling? $125?? DANG, it's been a few years. I just looked at mine and there seemed to be no issues with my earring.... or my smile. $125????? Time to sock some money away for 2012 when renewal rears its head.

wow!!! $125!!!!
I think we will have to get one soon, if we want to continue crossing the canadian border. I haven't checked lately but I think its coming soon.
stinks.

They said for cruises it was June 1st. :confused3

I think I smiled.. you are going to make me go look.. and me without jewelry....c'mon Mike, I did not take off my jewelry for this picture. I do not even take it off through the airport, and they get mad at me, but I say to them.. wand me. I have taken it off and just left my wedding ring on and one other ring and still set the thing off....so now I don't.

I wonder if the changes are due to post 9/11/01 increases in security and tightening up of the way things are done?

We had no jewelry on in our passport photos, but do have traces of smiles. No teeth though.

I think we paid $65 for ours. Time to renew is fast approaching. Amazing how quickly ten years can go. :sigh:

We had our photos taken at a Walgreen's too. LOL.

No smilin' and no jewelry, weird rules. :rolleyes2

Maybe they just want us to be unhappy. :teeth:

I had the same problems when I got mine last year. The guy told me not to look angry like a mug shot and also not to smile with teeth showing, just a pleasant smile. I should have questioned him as to why, but I wanted out of there as quick as possible. I was 1st in line and after 15 minutes, there were 50 people in a small cramped room with screaming children.

I wonder what the rule is? But the $125 sounds like you did the expedited option where you get your passport quicker? You can pay less and get it in the normal 6-8 week turnaround, or pay the $125 and get it within 2-4 weeks. Mine showed up in 2 weeks and then I didn't end up going to Europe. :(

Now they are asking for hair color on the application! :rotfl2:

Is N/A an appropriate answer? :confused3

N/A is not the correct answer.

For hair color you should respond: "Plain ole head"

:rotfl2:

Well that wasn't too bad!

Free parking, $75 check, $25 cash, and it will be here in two weeks! :cool1:

Not sure why I couldn't just pay the whole thing by check, government is weird sometimes! :sad2:

Thank you! After standing in line for an hour with screaming kids, it was worth getting that pic. Tink? Not so much. :)

Ok, now back on topic.

Um. Passports.....I have one but yet haven't used it. I need to go to Europe!

I've been reading a blog about Disney/Paris, ya, I'm ready for that! :thumbsup2

::yes::

We LOVE travelling in Europe. So far Paris and Rome. Next year it's London and Paris. :yay:

And Disneyland Paris is a beautiful park! The Phantom Manor (their Haunted Mansion) is awesome! It's in Frontierland, and it's done really well with the old west theming.

Me too! Everytime I talk to my friends about going to Europe for the first time and the main thing I want to see and do is Disneyland Paris, I get more dirty looks and eye rolls. I mean, I'm going to do all the sightseeing and experience Europe for the first time, but I'm NOT going all that way and be THAT close to Disneyland Paris and just not go!

That just wouldn't be right. :)

You got that right!

We stayed at Disneyland Paris, and just took the train into Paris each day we didn't have planned for the parks. :rotfl:
