Does anyone know if I need to get a new passport for my 3 year old. We are travelling in March and his passport expires in April 2006. Technically, the passport won't be expired until we come back but I thought I better check. I know for some countries the passport has to be good for 6 months after arrival..we are going to the US.
Please advise. I tried calling the passport office and I am on hold for too long!
Thanks!

No, you don't need a new one for your travel. To be honest, they NEVER want to see my kids passports ... "just the adults please" :confused3

You won't need a new one but it couldsn't hurt to get it renewed anyhow better safe than sorry as far as I am concerned.

Regardless, at this time passports are not necessary for travel to the USA (from Canada) for Canadian citizens, residing in Canada.

That's my opinion as well.

Why not just get it renewed to save any headaches later on. Chances are you will need it when when travelling again anyways.
