Passport problem :(

passport pics = :headache:
i went to our local photo shop last week to have my passport pic re-done and he said i "couldn't have a fringe in a passport pic!"
i thought he was trying to be funny, but nop... he stood there while i tried () to sweep my fring off my face that i'd just spent the previous half hour straightening:sad1:
then for him to turn around and say " i'm sorry you'll have to remove your earrings too!!:scared1:"
:confused3:confused3:confused3:sad2:

p.s not received my passport yet....

Oh no! I am contemplating a fringe for the first time because it's cheaper than botox :lmao: I don't want to look to 'groovy' in the forehead when I get my new passport pictures done in another 7 years! :scared1: I look like ET in my current one. The way the hologram is positioned across my neck makes me look like I have my head on a broomstick! It is honestly the worst picture I have ever had in a passport. Of course they accepted it with no questions asked. :rolleyes1 I think they prefer the non flattering photos.

I have a fringe... I think it's just if it's covering an important bit of the picture, like your eyes, that it has to be moved. They take all the biometric data from the photos now, so they have to have the eyes clear.

I did have to remove my glasses for mine this time around though.

Good luck to the OP, hope you get your photos all sorted and approved!

last time my sons needed renewing the woman at the post office said it didnt meet regulations because his head was too near the border or something like that, took it to a different post office, accepted no problem and the passport came back fine.

I'm glad its not just me then.
Well new photos took and sent off, we will wait with baited breath to see what they send back this time.
Just one other thing i forgot to say, the cheeky gets have taken the money already, yep even though they refused the photos the money was taken out of our account .

I had the exact same problem when I had mine done a year or two ago.

They made me pay in the post office to have it done 3 times :scared1: trying my bestest to sweep my fringe to the side. On the 3rd attempt, I'd had enough. The lady who was checking and sending just gave me one of "those" expressions - the sort of "This photo is going to be rejected, so on your own head be it" thing.
She reluctantly took the photos and sent them - and a passport came the next week.

OP: hope all turns out well with your little'uns passport :goodvibes

Well the wee ones passport arrived on Friday, so alls well that ends well.
Just sent off our other daughters forms yesterday , going from a child passport to an adult one. So fingers crossed all goes well this time.

AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHH, don't believe this.
Took the kiddies down to the chemist to get new photos done, same time, same place same lighting conditions, same background screen.
Can you see where I'm going with this yet?
Yep, wee ones passport arrived safe and sound and now a letter arrives saying my other daughters picture is not acceptable because it is too light.
I mean aaarrrrgghhhhh, why does it have to be so difficult?
So I phone them and ask why my younger daughters photo was acceptable and this one wasn't , and was told that there was
too much reflection of her forehead, and maybe if she combed her hair forward it would act as a shade.
Oh but wait surely it says in the form hair should be kept off the face, bah ah erm yes but the photo is not acceptable so you'll have to do it again.

So, so far for 2 passports I've paid. £8 times 2 for photos, plus £5 for a new one out of a photo booth. Plus 4 times £5 for posting special delivery. Not to mention £120 in passport fees.

Not a happy camper but its like butting your head off a wall talking to these people and as I need the passport I have to put up with it.

It's just incredible! Would your kiddies not sit in a photo booth? (Sorry I forgot their ages).
