Where is the most budget place I can have passport photos done? Any tips would be great...or if you have tips on taking them yourself, I'd like to hear that too! Thanks!

This website allows you to do your photos yourself. You have to select the correct country you need a passport picture for. You follow their instructions to take your pictures yourself. You save the pics to your computer, then upload the to the website. The website helps you adjust the head size to the correct dimensions. It then gives you a jpg file to make a 4x6 picture, that has 6 2x2 pictures of the same person.

You save the file and can either upload the pics to a place like Walmart, or you can take it to the store on a memory card, CD, etc. You have them print the 4x6 photos, which are like 15 to 20 cents apiece. So if you have 5 family members it would be about $1.00 for all of your pics.

I have used this site several times for different people and had no issues.

We went to Walgreens for ours. I think that we paid about $6 each person. I have heard that AAA will do them for free.

Do you have an AAA membership?

Our's does passport photos for free.

Cheapest option around.

We have a AAA Plus membership and our passport photos were free.---Kathy

CVS has a $2 off coupon on their web site, so it costs $5.99 + tax after the coupon. I printed 3 coupons for each of us & they took them all.

Thanks for the AAA Plus tip! I will need to get a passport soon, so I will be sure to go to the AAA office. :)

We took ours at home, used a white sheet as the backdrop. I did them because I was afraid the 6yo wouldnt sit still for someone else to do it. Turns out all were acceptable but his and we had to do his at the county court house.....not only did he sit still with a big smile, but his was the best looking of all of them! :rotfl:

I recommend getting them done somewhere that uses a digital camera (some Walmarts do) especially if you have young children. Our first attempt at getting DD's pics done when she was 7 months wasted 4 sets of film for the poor photo girl, cause she couldn't get the baby's head the correct size. We went to another store with the new digital camera for pp photos and one shot and it was perfect.

If you don't have a specific deadline for when you need the passports, then you could try doing them at home. I wouldn't recommend this route to anyone that needs them sooner than like 6 months out, because what if the photo gets rejected? You may end up having to pay those high fees to have it expedited to get it in time.
