the first night of Passover is Wednesday night.

yes, it's always on the full moon. the Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar. each month begins at the new moon. Passover is the 15th day of Nissan, and thus at the full moon.

"Next year in Jerusalem" is what we say at the end of the Seder every year. it's our hope that Israel will be restored and the Temple will be rebuilt.

Lots of my friends are jewish, so I'm quite familiar with the Jewish holidays. I attend seders, they dye easter eggs...we always dip into one anothers holiday.

I remember a few years ago my friends family made me read at the seder. I was reading and accidently said "Jesus". I must've turned 6 shades of red. Fortunately, they just all laughed at me and made fun of me for the rest of the night.

Evil Princess, that instantly reminded me of a few years back during one of our seders. We had just opened the door to let Elijah in when my 5 year old nephew yelled out "I sure hope he doesn't see his shadow." He completely got it confused with groundhog day. We thought it was hysterical, but to this day (now age 13) he turns red and gets embarrassed when we get to that portion.

Happy Passover to all! I've got to bake my flourless chocolate cake now. Bringing it to my parent's house for sedar tonight. The sedar has gotten progressively shorter now that there are young children at the table. My dd made a hagaddah in preschool and we are bringing it with us. It is so cute!
