Just got this in the mail yesterday.

"All passholder benefits will be valid on a calendar year basis-(Jan.1-Dec.31)."

Whats this meen to passholders that renew (like us)in Apiral?

4months without benifits?:confused3

I plan on going back the first week in May just before mine expires. Then I plan on getting another when I go back in late Sept/early Oct. Would that mean that pass would only be good for three months?

Hmmm...haven't heard anything about that. I'll try and found out more today and let you know. If they mean the pass itself is only good through a calendar year, I am assuming that they will be pro-rated at renewal time or at purchase time. but let me look into this.

I got this also and was confused as well. Ours won't expire till next Oct.

I interpret it to mean that each year they will set the new benefits. Whatever pass you have will adhere to those benefits during that time.

So let's say for Jan. 2011- Dec. 2011, it states you get 10% off tickets if you are a preferred holder. All preferred passholders would have those benefits during that time.

Then in Jan 2012 they change it to 5%...all preferred passholders would now get those new benefits for 2012 no matter when you expire.

I just think it means that they will change the benefits each January and no matter when your pass expires or what the benefits were when you bought your pass, you get the benefits stated for the current year.

ah okay, that makes sense.

Let's let Bev check into this and report back before a lot speculation circulates. There isn't a lot of news on the Facebook page right now. Let's see what she can find out.

Damo is correct. The pass is still good a year from purchase. In fact, there are no changes at all. This has always been the policy about benefits. They are set on a yearly basis. So no worries.

Thank you both for clarifying this for us!!:thumbsup2

"Marty you are'nt thinking 3dimensional.I no Doc,I have a real problem with that"...:lmao:

No - what I think that means is they have the rights to change the benefits of the pass Jan 1. So if you buy the Annual pass to get a particular discount at your favorite shop, you cannot complain if they make a change AFTER you buy your pass. It gives them permission to change the benefits Dec 31. Your annual pss is still good though.

Edit to add - sry about the duplication - I see someone covered it! :)

I got an email survey from US/IoA that asked a ton of questions about what perks I would like to see with my AP. It gave a myriad of scenarios....looks like they are playing with what's available now and what they want to do down the road.

I got the same survey and went through it. We are preferred passholders and we need to renew in January (22). We are holding out right now to see if any new incentives come out. We stopped at the guest relations window while in USF a few weeks ago. We asked about renewing and if there was a better price or a longer timeframe. The rep said no. We told him, we'd wait for now.

that is how it has always been.. I guess seeing in black and white just threw some for a loop.. :confused3

I was just excited that our benefits might change for 2011. From the sounds of the survey it looks like they are really looking at all options! Should be exciting!

Sure but it makes me nervous but we'll have to wait and see.

For what it's worth, we just renewed two of our APs in response to a "limited time" email offer from US. It was $149.99 to renew, compared to the regular $219. for an AP. We saved $60 on each one. However, we had to wait until today to renew the third one, because it was purchased three weeks later than the first two ( first 2 at end of Dec. last yr, 3rd wasn't bought until January) I called them about it, and was assured that the same email offer would be sent for the third one when it was within the "renewal timeframe", which is what arrived today. That new year won't begin until the day our original ones expire.

Actually I do remember reading this year that you were able to renew 30 days prior or 30 days after your date. I guess your other one is more than 30 days out.. they have changed their policy a little since last year...and up their prices $50 in doing so.. last year's renewal's (and many year's prior) were only $99 to renew.
