Is there a way to check passholder rates if you aren't a current passholder? Universal makes it so easy to do this, but I haven't figured out how with WDW. Is there a number I can call? Thank you!

If you don't mind posting the date range and the hotel names, someone with an AP can check it for you.

I’m a little flexible on the date, but one of the weeks we’re considering is May 18-23ish. I need 3 rooms, preferably at Boardwalk, Beach or Yacht. Leaning toward BW because of Stormalong Bay being closed, but will still consider BC/YC. Thank you so much!!

$760 Resort view-club level

YACHT CLUB
No AP rates offered.

BOARDWALK
$794 Resort view-club level
$1012 Garden room-club level access

Because they are only available to those select guests that qualify. They want you to buy and AP or book a trip and then you get the lower pricing. Strictly marketing.

No, I think they want you to call so they can talk you into booking a package.

That might have been the reasoning until the last 8-10 years.

First it started with valid AP holders being able to see AP rates and book online. Finally this year guests that had a recent qualifying stay, search and book Bounce Back (BB) Offers online. They even allow you to modify your BB dates online.

I would not do the BB rates, but if it's marketing than they have it backwards. If you want to entice people to buy AP's than you 'would' show the discounts that they can get.

The bottom line is sadly no! WDW leaves a lot to desire when it comes to their website.

That's really too bad! I remember calling about 25 years ago, I didn't have an annual pass, but the CM was quite willing to tell me what the AP rates were. I remember having to find out from her how to get the AP rate before I got the AP (at that time, she told me to just show my AP to the front desk within 24 hours of check in, so she suggested places where I could go to buy my AP on check-in day).

BB rates have nothing to do with having an AP. Resort discounts are not the primary reason to buy an AP. They are never guaranteed & are an additional benefit offered randomly.

Of course they are never guaranteed but seeing AP hotel discount for Universal is what convinced me to buy a Universal AP. Same could happen for Disney and when I have an AP I end up traveling more to WDW and staying onsite and eating there... It seems like something they could show on the website and allow you to book but of course you have to show an AP at the time of check in to keep the discount.

They could, but it’s their website & they choose not to, for whatever reason. Before MDE, you did have to show your AP on checkin to get the discount. With MDE & online check in, most people don’t even go to the desk to check in.

But again, if you want to know the AP rate & availability without an active AP, all you have to do is call. Maybe they want people to interact with a CM to encourage buying the AP.

Exactly! I’m debating about getting a new AP and what would push me to buy one would be if I could see what the discounts are.
Anyone can still do this. The rates are not a secret, if you don’t have a current, active AP in your MDE account, you just have to call & ask for availability.
Do you call the main reservation number or the AP number?

They may not be guaranteed but it is as close as you can come to it. 20 years, 40+ trips and there have always been multiple AP discounts throughout the year. The only time we have paid rack was to get FD.
