If I buy my kids annual passes as Southern Cali Residents can they get into the park. They don't have drivers license so I am concerned that they won't let them in. I just don't want to waste money so I was trying to figure it out.

Thanks to anyone that knows. I tried calling the hotline and got no where!

When you buy their AP's they will check YOUR residency. So long as you are a So.Cal resident they will be too. Their pictures will be on their AP's so there is no problem with them getting into the parks at a later date.

I was looking on line at passes tonight as I surprise gift to my teens . How does that work if I purchase them. Do they take them somewhere and get their picture taken. Do I need to be present or can they just get in?

I am glad they put photos on them so I won't have to worry about it next time. I would love it though If I knew I could do it!

If they don't have ID, I think you need to be there when they get their AP. Otherwise, would you just drop them of at DLR and tell them to go get their own AP?

My girls' "Dad" lives in Long Beach, we asked about getting them the So Cal APs and yes, he could buy them for him but when they redeemed them he would have to be with them for processing. In the end we all got PAPs because that was what would work best for our family and the trips we were planning for 2009. :)

If you are still worried about them not having identification (drivers license), you can get state issued ID cards. They just like a drivers license but are merely for identification purposes. They are nice to have.

I peeked at some of your past posts, and see that you're thinking of moving to so cal, but aren't there yet. It's not going to be possible, to get the kids so cal passes, if you don't live there, because it's your ID that will prove where THEY live.

Just answering this in general for APs...if you buy the vouchers online, you'll print out the vouchers. Then when you get to DLR, you take them to the gate just like e-tickets. They will scan the barcodes and ticket-sized papers will come out and be given to you. That works as your ticket and FP-getting-thing (official term, ha ha) for the day. You can hop with it, too.

It used to be that you had to have pix taken at DL, but now that there's a new AP processing center in DCA, they *might* be able to take pictures there too. But we'll just say that you still have to do it at DL. At some point during that day, you and the kids go over to the AP center. You'll show your address info (so they know where to send the renewal notices, basically!) and their info will be given, and then the pictures will be taken. They'll get their APs and you can go on your merry way.

My husband works in southern cal and has a cali drivers license but curently we live in Oregon will be moving soon to Cali. We go and stay with him so it is silly to just keep buying passes every time we are there. So we have decided until we officially move there we are just either going to keep buying day passes or buy the deluxe annual pass. It just seems simplier as my husband stays in hotel and has no address.

Thanks everyone though for your help!

Well then he can take them and get them So Cal APs but YOU would have to get the Deluxe or Premium as you would not have a So Cal ID. It IS silly to buy passes everytime, if you're doing that and going more then once a year you're wasting money and you should already have APs. :)
You say your DH has a CA license but no address, what address in on his DL? Because you HAVE to have an actual address to get a DL.....
