planning my first trip ever and just saw today that the 26th is a pass holder only event?????? after 8pm. uggg now what? I am only going to be there 2 days!

So the other park will be open? So new to universal. I was hoping to convert one ticket to annual pass if not a lot more (got undercover tourist) but Mayb I will have to do all five...

Yes, the other park should be working under normal hours. I'll be honest I've never converted anything as the annual pass is always a better value for me. Also i would never mess with any sellers other than Disney or Universal. Just not worth any issues at the gate for a few dollars in savings.

The event isn't until 8 PM - you're only missing out on an hour at one park. I've been to Universal three times and it's always been at times of year where USF closes at 7 if not earlier. 8 PM is nothing to be upset about.
Ok I guess I'm used to late Disney hours! Thank you for putting my mind at ease!

There are several 100% bonafide discount ticket places. No issues. One of them a few years ago (undercovertourist) actually fixed issues that Disney employees had caused.

And it’s often not just a few dollars.

Yep, uni’s hours are always shorter.
And the other park will be open.

We have gone that time of year before, and our first time, first reaction was why such early closing. But, we found out, that meant much lower crowds.

We will be there that weekend, so I would not worry about losing an hour or so of being in the Studios. And I am sure IOA will be open later. During HHN, IOA is open to 8 or 9 pm, when the Studios close at 5 pm.

Get a park hopper, do the Studios in the morning and early afternoon, then close down the park in IOA. I do that during HHN nights.

There won't be any issues at the gate. Undercover Tourist is completely legit and many people here use them with no problems.

Undercover Tourist is very reputable, and you can definitely go to IOA when US closes, so don’t worry about your night being cut short.

On the other hand, if you really want to go to the AP event, you can easily upgrade your Undercover Tourist tickets to the Seasonal AP ticket. Many times the SAP is the same as a 2 or 3 day park to park ticket or only a few dollars more. The event ends at midnight. However, if you want to attend, I wouldn’t wait to upgrade the tickets same day. It looks like AP holders are eligible to check in at 10:00 am, and when they reach the limit, they will cap the check in. No idea how many that will be before they cut it off. This makes me think those showing up at 8:00pm even with an AP may not get in, but I’m only guessing.

From the website:
https://www.universalorlando.com/we...es/annual-passes/appreciation-days/index.html

“You can check in as early as 10 am if you want to spend the day at the park before the event. You must provide valid Annual or Seasonal Pass and photo ID. Space is limited and is first come, first served.”

There's no black outs for August right? If I try to upgrade my undercover tourist to seasonal pass?

People have been reporting success with upgrading that ticket from Undercover Tourist for nothing. Apparently, a 3 day ticket and an AP cost the same right now, so they’ve been able to basically do an even exchange. There’s a thread on here where this was discussed in depth very recently if you want to check it out.

I just did this a few days ago. Paid $0 to upgrade. Also, I bought our tickets from UT through the link in the Mousesavers newsletter and saved even a few more $$. We ALWAYS buy both our UO and WDW tickets this way. Learned this money saving tip right here on the dis.

Gotcha, but its a personal thing, I don't care if they were free still wouldn't take them unless Disney or Universal were the sellers.

I see that all passholders have EE the dates I am going. I originally booked to stay onsite at CB so I could have that privilege. With the opening of EE to more people can I expect larger crowds or now a disadvantage to EE :( ? Since we have the basic AP I'm contemplating looking to stay elsewhere if it's cheaper.

For the most part Disney is only open until 9:00 that time of year too (Animal Kingdom closes at 8:30 even). It's lower season so the hours are shorter than mid-summer. We will be at Universal that weekend too, but there for parts of 3-4 days (Friday afternoon to Monday morning) and a seasonal pass cost the same as 3 days, so I bought that and was pretty stoked to see recently that it means extra hours for us then with this event, plus a 10% restaurant discount as part of the passholder appreciation days.
