Passholder Discount Cards - don't forget to bring them

Funny thing about being a passholder is, your bands don't tell cast members you are a passholder (or DVC). So $1 Billion later, we get bands, but no customer relations management (CRM) software. Every visit is your first visit in their eyes.

So make sure you bring the discount cards and a photo ID if you want the discounts. This is the first year we have not gotten an actual passholder card - we were only sent new Magic Bands. We thought maybe linking the passholder account numbers to MDE is all we needed. A cast member scanned our bands and verified they cannot tell we are passholders (or DVC) by scanning the bands and viewing our MDE account. I'm also betting that if you booked rooms under the passholder discount, you may need those cards.

The passholder discount cards were in the bottom of the Magic Band box when we got our AP Magic Bands. Maybe you missed them? They were underneath the insert with the cut outs that holds the bands, at the very bottom. I think there might have been a small notice in the top of the box that said to look there, but I don't remember that part for sure.

I received the discount cards at Customer Relations. They did not explain what they were for and I thought they were temporary until we received the passes in the mail. They were even about to let us leave without the discount cards. We had no idea we needed them until 6 months later on the next trip when we kept being asked for the discount card for the first time ever!
