Passholder Card Question

We have the DVC Platinum Plus pass from last year. The PP pass expires in October, 2018. We are going to
CCV and BWV in May of this year and September of 2018.

Our question is from an email I got from Annual Pass holder yesterday. It says we can get the Donald
Magnet at HS in May. It also says we can get "Preferred seating" at Garden Rocks concerts for Pass holders.

The email goes on to state that you MUST SHOW Pass holder Card and Valid ID to get the above items.
In this day and age of Technology, we don't have Physical cards, we typed in the number online when we
ordered the PP pass from DVC, and added to Magicband. We DO have the number of the card, but no
"Physical Card".

How do we get a Physical card to prove we are indeed pass holders?

Thanks!

You can go to Guest Services and ask them for the gold card that goes with your annual pass. You should have received it when you activated your pass. Most CMs will ask to see it when you ask about getting an AP discount (merchandise purchase or for dining).

FWIW, when we picked up our magnets (at EPCOT for Flower & Garden Festival), they just scanned our Magic Bands and asked to see photo ID.

Yep just go to guest services. You need that card for discounts. Some CMs might be giving you discounts without it but they aren’t supposed to.

You should have been given one when you activated your APs.

I did get the cards (yellow I believe). BUT, they are 2 years old and do not reflect that they are now Platinum plus passes. 2 years
ago we got the "gold pass" through DVC, and then last year when they had the great deal of the Platinum Plus for $500?, we did NOT
get new cards to reflect this. I thought it was weird at the time, but we have cards from 2 years ago... Will they work???

Another "tech question"... WHY can they not "see" that we are AP holders on our Magic Bands? Why go "old school" and show a physical
card? Thought we were moving away from all of that... Wake up Disney!!! Just a thought....

They can see it and some places will give the discount based on seeing it when you scan (I have had that a few times without mentioning anything). They likely choose not to do this automatically for the most part because there are many times when people either do not know they are eligible for a discount or forget to ask, thus making Disney more money.

We just activated our Platinum AP in April at Guest Services at Epcot and were not given cards, but we were never asked for it as well, but I think we used our DVC member card most of the time.

It's weird that we were not automatically given to us.

It depends on the CM. Some won't and will argue with you saying you don't need it (they incorrectly assume discounts are automatic).

We haven't gotten a new one in a year or two. We typically show the "Memberships & Passes" screen in MDE as proof of discount.
