We have just (or still in the process) of purchasing a re-sale at BW. I was wondering if there is a discount on the length of stay passes? Disney indicated there was when we thought of purchasing VWL(something like 10%). But I still don't know what the cost is. I've read many of the posts and somewhat confused on what to purchase for passes or the cost. With our re-sale we are getting some points we have to use by the end of September and were planning doing a weekend this summer at BW and then down to VB. Then our week vacation in October, any suggestions?

Question #2--is it difficult to get a reservation in Hilton Head? What is the beach like at the resort? It is difficult to tell from the pictures....I've been to HH before but not to the DVC resort.

Thanks!!

You get a 10% discount on the length of stay pass (now called the Ultimate Park Hopper Pass). There is no discount on other park passes such as AP's or hoppers. To see prices without that discount go to http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tickets.htm
An example for comparison is that a 7 day length of stay with the discount ends up being cheaper than a 7 day hopper plus. Note that if you are going to be at WDW and in the parks 9 days or more during a one year period you should consider getting the Annual Pass.

It can be difficult to get HH a number of times in the year, particularly the peak summer season, using the 7 month reservation window that you would have as an owner from another resort. For any particular time, you will not know until you try.

The beach is not at the HH resort itself. The beach with the Disney pavilion is about a mile away (they provide transport) and it is fine.

Mep,
Most of us who have DVC like the APs because we can plan two once yearly trips in just under 365 days to take advantage of the cheaper per day cost of the AP. That assumes you do not do the water parks on a routine basis. We usually travel in the winter, so water parks aren't a routine part of our plan. If we want to do a water park, we buy a day ticket for that park. Last year we used our APs 29 days and figure it cost us about $10/day because of the discounted renewal etc. Now the AP renewal program is different, so we have changed our touring to twice in 365 days on one pass, and then we stay home for 13 months before starting the schedule over again. We buy vouchers for APs in December before the January price increase and hang on to them for 13 months before activating them. Saves us on the usual increase twice.
