Does anyone recall whether you needed to use fingerscan for the the following types of tickets? I know we had to use it for annual passes, but I cannot remember about the two below.

5-day Park Hopper Plus (not on a room key/no name/signature - not sure which pass belongs to who)

?-day Park Hopper Plus (on a 1999 room key card)

Thanks.

I am sure that is correct - they did not tag the the old Park Hopper tickets in any way for your identity. (If you wanted to return later in the day, or hop into another park, you had to have the invisible ink stamp, because the ticket was tagged as already in use.)

My question is - if I go to the gate with an old Park Hopper today, will they tag it with the new computer system?

Right now, we don't keep track of which ticket is who's (except for the kid who insists on having a certain character picture for himself.) I have a some old hoppers, and I am only going for a couple days. Will this ticket that I bring with me now be mine permanently? or can someone else in the family use it when we go back again?

Eventually, we will have to buy the MYW tickets. I understand they have the fingerscan like the AP's, but the AP has a name on it. How do they put a name on the MYW?

Pre-MYW/Old Park Hoppers = No finger scan
Pre-MYW/Old Park Hoppers = Not person-specific (just coded adult or child)

We (DH, DD7, DS7, I) used 4-day hopper+ tickets that we'd purchased in Dec.'04 for our trip last month. Just slipped 1 child's ticket in, one kid walked through, slipped 1 adult ticket in, DH or I walked through, etc. Never needed to write names on them -- CM just watched that 2 children and 2 adults walked through. FYI - The CMs were always nearby, guess helping lots of new finger-scanning folks, and sometimes that really slowed down the lines.

Still have the plus on our tickets, so at some point we'll use those.

If you have an old ticket on a room key, make sure that it is actually a hopper or hopper plus, and not an Ultimate Park Hopper (those were the ones tied to the room that allowed you unlimited access to the parks, waterparks, PI and DQ during your stay, but expired midnight of the day you checked out of your resort). Many guests bring those with them thinking they have days left, when they have actually expired after their last stay. Unless you remember what type of ticket you had on your room key, there is no way to know until you get down to the parks. Disney castmembers cannot read tickets over the phone and the Disney Stores are not set up to do so there and the stores at the airport cannot read them, either.
