Okay, so, it's not that the payment plan is not a good deal, it just sounds like you somehow did not get the payment plan.

  • How did you set it up?
  • Where did you set it up?
  • Have you called Disney to tell them the full amount was charged instead of the down payment?

It just sounds like somehow either a mistake was made or it was not communicated that you wanted the payment plan.

I would suggest you call Disney and get it sorted out. :goodvibes

No, its not you, this has been happening to A LOT of people!!!! I went through the same thing with a Premium pass I bought before the increase and was charged full and I'm STILL waiting to get an email back from them after I sent one in about 9 days ago now! I even called them TWICE to settle it but they just keep telling me to email them. There was even a thread about it here not too long ago.

No the passes are a good deal, the orders just got screwed up somehow thats all! But here is the email they gave me to sort it out:

ticketinquiries@disneyonline.com Or ticketinquirie@disneyonline.com

To be honest I can't remember if it was with or without the 's' so just type in both of them! And you should get an automatic reply saying they recieved it. Now it doesnt mean you will get a swift reply back as I'm waiting over a week now, but at least write them first!

For me, I'm going to give it two more days and if I dont get an email Friday morning I'm calling them and I'm going to DEMAND someone fix it and fix it fast! I plan to be there next Thursday, took time from work and already got my hotel room. If I cant get in the park over something THEY screwed up on and I been waiting patiently two weeks to clear up, wont be happy! I dont even mind going to the park and taking care of it there...just as long as it can be resolved before I'm suppose to go in.

Anyway if you get through to them quickly and it gets resolved please tell me! Good luck!

I set it up online with the payment plan... Disney messed up so now it is not a good deal for me since I have 4 overdraft charges at 30.00 each to pay.. adding 120.00 to my cost of the passes plus I am going to look like a deadbeat to my bank.. I do not like what Disney has done at all!!!

I wonder how many more this has happened to?

Good luck.. I have a feeling that Disney honestly does not care... my passes are paid for .. in full.. and what a mess it has created. I know I set it up on the payment plan but I guess Disney decided differently.. I am just sick over this mess... $120.00 in overdraft fees...
This kind of takes the magic away doesn't it?

If you call your bank or go in and talk to a manager, they will often reverse the overdraft fees in cases like this. Not a guarantee, but worth checking!

Yeah it does suck but believe me they care if for no other reason they dont want to get the PR flack about it. Believe me they WILL do everything in their power to overturn this mess! The time I called, they apologized profusely and said they didnt know how it happened. But the problem is they cant seem to just 'fix it' over the phone and so its really become a pain in the you-know-what. At the moment its fine because I dont plan to go to the park until next week but yes if its not resolved by then I am going to be one bitter pill! The only reason I renewed so soon is because of next week as I plan to be there 4-5 days. So yeah I WILL be calling them on Friday and telling them if this is not fixed by then then I demand a full refund!

And whats odd is I did it online and you cant put ANY money down if you are renewing, none unless you were going to pay it all off at once, which I didnt do! In fact I was going to go to the park and put about half down on the pass anyway so my fees will be cheaper next week anyway. But I know they will do everything to change it because there are quite a few people with the same situation and I'm surprise it hasnt gotten any more coverage at least on other sites yet.

Did you print out or save any of the information when you bought your pass? You should be able to take that to the bank to help your case with the fees.
And, if possible, e-mail a pdf of it to Disneyland with your inquiry.
Hope they can fix this soon for you.

I tried over and over to do the payment plan, rushing before the price increase, and the website woudn't let me. Just decided to suck it up and charge it. :confused3

Yes, try this. If you dont have a history of having an overdrawn account they will be much more understanding. The last time we had an accidental overdraft I called the bank (B of A) and they said because I hadnt had an overdraft in 6+ months (more like 5 years) they would reverse the charges. Its always worth asking.

This. I was always told that you could have one overdraft fee taken off a year, no questions asked. You obviously have a good case for the bank to take two off.

Mistakes/glitches happen. They're an inconvenience but if you're persistent enough you will be able to make the charges go away and get back to the payment plan and it will be a good deal after everything.

I would definitely contact the bank and let them know that was NOT supposed to be the agreement, if you have paperwork to support that then even better. Otherwise I would expect Disney to return the $120 in fees to you as it was clearly their error. I'm so sorry that happened to you, I purchased under the old prices for DD and myself for our July trip, they charged the down payment and the first months payment only. Best of luck!!

Yes. You have supporting documents, you are not just out the money. I'd dispute the charges because it is against your agreement, they will credit the money to your account until it gets settled. You will have to provide supporting documents to your bank. Talk to Disney to get it straightened out on their end too. Find out from your bank if they will waive the overdraft fees or if you need Disney to reimburse them.

Went to my Credit Union and had to pay the 120.00 in fees.. We have never had a overdrft so I guess my credit union is not one that "forgives". I will now be contacting Disney to let them know how unhappy I am with the mistake they made...

You must go to a horrible bank. My bank will forgive one, and in a case like this would have forgiven them all. You just need to prove it was not your error, and you can. Have you tried to talk to a manager at your bank?

I did talk to the branch manager.. she basically said it is Disneys responsibility to cover the charges.. I called Disney and was transfered 4 times.. now they will call me back.. This sure takes the "magic" out of Disney for me.. Something tells me I am just flat out stuck paying that 120.00...

Yeah, ESPECIALLY since Disney is going to refund you (I assume). Neither party should pay it since in the end, it's not going to cost your credit union anything once the charge is pulled. I wonder if you can stop the charge since if it was recent it may still be pending. Also, I've never heard of a bank that won't retract the overdraft fees if you bring you account positive before midnight the day you overdraft. I don't know, if it were me, I wouldn't take no for an answer. Persistence nearly always pays off.

I agree with everyone else. It sounds like you rolled over too easily here. Your bank should refund you the overdraft charges since it wasn't your fault, and at this point you need to definitely shop or a new bank.

I would not let the bank say no they should refund it i have complained on more then one time and never roll over i get them to take the overdrafts off

You bought two tickets but commented that you have four overdraft charges. Did Disney charge you in four chunks? Were the overdraft charges directly associated with the Disney debits or were they associated with transactions made following the Disney purchase when you were expecting there to still be money in the account? Were the overdrafts all on the same day or spread out over time? If they were an immediate result of the Disney debits and/or all the same day of the Disney transaction, I agree that you should be able to push the credit union more to get those fees waived. If they were overdraft charges made simply because you expected the money to be there, then, yes, Disney definitely messed you up, but you should probably be arguing for reimbursement from Disney not the credit union.
