I hope that it is OK to mention this here, if not, Mods please delete:
Many posters here are aware that I am involved with the American figure skating community, as my daughter is a competitive skater. Our national federation, USFSA, has established financial assistance programs for the families of those killed in the crash. (None of the victims were affiliated with local Figure Skating Clubs in my area, and members of my own family did not know any of the victims personally.)
If you would like to donate to help offset death-related costs for families of the skaters & coaches who died in this crash, the United States Figure Skating Assn. has established a dedicated Family Support Fund for them (this is different from the USFSA Memorial Fund that was set up after the 1961 plane crash, which provides support to any competitive skater who needs financial assistance to continue in the sport.) There will also be a major benefit ice show held in Washington, DC at CapitalOne Arena on Sunday, March 2, 2025 to benefit all victims' families (not just those involved in skating) and the First Responders who worked at the scene. For more information on that event and the list of charities it will benefit, please see
