My biggest dreaded ordeal. Shoe shopping! It is time for a professional measuring.(I found this out when ds was trying on soccer cleats and I realized he had gone from a men's 9 to a 10! almost overnight:scared1: )
So off to the mall we go. Into the madness. On this beautiful beautiful day.
If you never hear from me again the Mall got me.
(oh to get a true visual- the kids are 2,4,10 and 13 and only the 10 year old is a girl)

That is why I shoes shop for them by myself!:rotfl: They are 10, 7 and 7. They haven't really gotten to a point where they have to pick out their own shoes yet. (thank goodness)

Thoughts and prayers are with you...I hate the mall. I think you will need tequila, not tylenol....:rotfl2:

How do you know they will fit or do you buy several pair and return the ones you don't want?

We have to shoe shop as well. DS12 needs every day tennis shoes and DD12 needs soccer shoes.

I feel your pain. Uh, or no actually, no pain at all. I love shoe shopping, even with my kids. We bought 24 pairs when we were in the US on holiday in June. :)

I HATE shoe shopping with my DS (7) - he only likes the velcro sneakers - no ties and sometimes they are so hard to find. He has to go with me because different brands fit different, some run small or big.

I hear you.... DS17 plays tennis. We bought new tennis shoes in early summer, he played for hours daily all summer long, and we just bought new tennis shoes again last week as he has literally worn through the sole. He wears a size 10 too. Man, once the kids leave the kid-size shoes, amazing how the shoe bill can go up....

My kids have no say in the matter. I have 4 too. I buy tons of shoes in different styles and sizes. Bring them home and see what fits and looks good. Return the rest. No way am I taking 4 kids for shoes. I'll take 1 or 2 if they need them at anoff time, but not all of them. Good luck.

I feel your pain. After going to 5 stores we finally found a pair of sneakers that fit DD8 and that she likes. Today we're going in search of shoes and I'm the worst mom because there's a Zack & Cody marathon on right now  . Like she'd be allowed to sit around and watch all day anyway :rolleyes1 .

That's why it is so nice when they get older, put them in the car, drive to the mall, pull up in front, hand them some money and say bye...see you in a few hours! :rotfl:

May the force be with you:yoda: Just did this friday with a girl 5,twins boys 10 and a girl 12,it wasn't pretty:scared1:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We did this last weekend. But I bring each of my kids separately. I would rather make 3 trips to the dreaded mall, than bring them all at the same time. It was torture!

I very rarely bring my kids with me to shoe shop. The youngest has been to stride rite a cpl of times but when i notice his shoes are getting to small i ususally just go buy a bigger size.. if he is in a 7.5 then I go buy an 8.5. Always worked for me... just return the rest. I do that with my 18 yr old too.. well thank goodness his foot quit growing. I also shop for shoes alot LOL.. I always hit the clearance racks and sales , so ususally its never an emergency need for shoes, we always a have a cpl of pairs handy in the closet. I love love love shoes, so my guys always have at least three or four pairs they are wearing at a time.

I feel for you. There is no other shopping I hate more than shoe shopping with the kids.

Oh Honey, I can relate

Took my girls (12,8) a couple of weeks ago. And the younger one will hardly wear any of the 4 pairs she bought. I could scream.

ANd can anybody tell me, why those little flats are so darned expensive.

I am SO grateful that my DD now fits into (and likes) Payless shoes. Can't beat their prices on flip-flops and sandals. They even carry American Eagle stuff. I was recently able to get her a pair of shoes for gym class there. (Thank goodness, because the only other athletic shoes that fit her feet are New Balance...eeek, about $100 per pair :scared1: )

agnes!

Why torture yourself:hug:

Thanks for posting this. I only wish I had seen it before we went out. Tried 3 more stores and still no luck. What DD liked either didn't fit her foot right or they didn't have her size :headache: . I came home and ordered 3 pairs from Zappos and 1 pair from LL Bean. Hopefully she'll like something AND it will fit. I think I need a drink

I'm alive! It was unbelievable in the store! At one point the 4 year old was on the ground feet in the air screaming"THESE HURT!" After a summer in Crocs any "shoe" hurts. Finally found a pair for him. At the same time the 2 year old wants shoes too. So he found a pair that was adorable- I picked them out. Then he sees another pair he wants. REALLY wants. So guess which ones we got? Yes I am a pushover mom. DD didn't like what they had there so 2 more stores later- she finds a pair of sneakers, a pair of GOLD shoes(they were $4) and a ton of clothes. Wait a minute? We were there for shoes? At least it was Limited too bucks time so I got it half off.
So I survived the mall- spent $$$ but dd is ready for middle school. (let's hope they have a disco for the gold shoes) ds is ready for preschool. And my 13 year old son even found a bunch of stuff at AE he would wear. After telling me"Mom guys just don't care about this stuff like girls do- oh look a sweatshirt"

Well thank you all for understanding. And yes I LOVE Zappos normally- and now that I have the sizes straight- I am getting the rest of the shoes online.

I have a friend that buys 4 shoes at a time- a sneaker, a casual shoe, a dress shoe, and rain boot. Then she buys the same 4 in a size larger! That way she figures she is covered. It did backfire once when her son's foot grew about 2 sizes in a month.

we just went for me, I had to get sneakers and I spent most of the time trying on high heels. let's say my mom had a migrane when we got out of Kohls.
