I currently have a Preferred pass for Universal that expires on June 13. I bought it outright initially but want to do the renewal on FlexPay - is this possible? I didn't see the option online but I can go do it in person if I need to.

I would call the AP hotline and ask them how to switch to flex pay for renewal

I called them and the woman I spoke to didn't seem to understand what I wanted to do. She kept telling me my current pass is paid in full. I kept saying I know that but I want to renew. Finally I thanked her and hung up. :scared:

I'm going to UO next week, I'll just ask at a ticket window. If I can't do it, I'll just pay in full on a credit card.

You can renew 30 days out
Some people have been able to renew earlier than that

Check it out with guest services when you go

You can switch from full pay to flex pay and be locked in at flex rate on the next renewal

The thing about flex pay is you do not get a price break on renewal. You pay the going rate (down payment then balance remaining divided by 12 payments). Then after your first year you monthly goes up in price to cover the downpayment plus the monthly.

Not sure about Universal , but if u switch to flex pay on a renewal for a Disney pass you don't need the down payment. You will have like a $5-10 higher pay per month but you will still be paying the renewal price.

Flex pay will not allow to to renew at the renewal discount. The whole flex pay thing is no interest but you pay full price each year. Without flex pay you get the renewal discount for paying up front.

Here is a sample copy of the flex pay contract.
