pass holder preview of pandora

Everyone is talking about rides, shops and food. I have seen/read where people are getting on the rides and trying the food, but I haven't heard of anyone being able to buy things in the shops. Any info on making purchases? Are they only allowing you to walk in the shop and look, but make no purchases?
I've seen photos of people walking around with stuff yesterday I would assume they were starting to sell things during yesterday's preview.

So if they are doing it the same as CM previews it looks like you'll get a paperfast pass for the rides then will return dueing that time to ride and can explore during the rest of the time.
I didn't actually look at what was being handed out, but I'm pretty sure the FP was only needed for FoP. Also, a limited number of FPs are available and so not everyone was able to ride FoP.
Yeah people at CM previews are only being allowed to ride each attraction once.
Some people were able to do the river ride more than once.

The merchandise shop was open. I saw a number of people with the Banshee toy, pretty cute.

But if let's say your preview is from noon to 2pm and you go to Satu'li Canteen at 1:55pm and order food they are not going to kick you out at 2pm.
I don't know, I'll ask, but maybe they stop taking food orders early so that people will be done eating near the close time. Also, what was done yesterday may not be what will be done today and beyond. Things change by the hour.

:confused3 I don't know but I just can't imagine Disney letting a prime opportunity to make money go untapped by not allowing purchases in Windtraders. If that's the case, I'll have one disappointed 8 yr old that's been saving up her chore money in order to buy a blue Banshee next week.:worried:

Thank you for the merchandise info Fastpasser, looks like we'll be bringing a blue Banshee home with us after all :thumbsup2

Thanks for the quick replies! I thought it would be next to impossible to keep people from making purchases, but ya never know! My kids are saving their money for a banshee as well! I am getting excited, these 12 days aren't going to go by fast enough!

That would really suck if you didn't get to ride FoP.

I agree. We would really like to do both but, of the 2 experiences, FOP is top priority for DD and I.

Right there with ya. We saw the Disney Pandora commercial on TV for the first time last night and just that added to our overwhelming excitement. DD was dancing around and singing...10 days, only days, we'll get to see Pandora and ride a Banshee in 10 days. My DH, who doesn't get any aspect of Disney magic, just shook his head :rotfl2:

I'm doing the CM preview on Thursday and this is what I plan to do, I've heard that it's not a hard clearing of people. Plus if they do the time slot to ride the attractions once why would they kick people out that are going to be consuming and buying?

I heard the opposite for the AP previews but it's really a 3 hour window and there is a 1 hour gap between time slots for the clearing to happen. I never saw all the time slots, is there really an hour between each one? If that's the case, I'm very much making sure I'm stuck there an extra hour because it'll be dark and I can see day and night in 1 trip :) if I have to get out at 8, then it's still sunny out.

Yes there is an hour between each time slot.

The 4 time slots are:
DVC: 9 am to 11 am
AP: Noon to 2 pm
AP: 3 pm to 5 pm
AP: 6 pm to 8 pm

I can't imagine they will not have a way figured out so that you can ride each of the 2 rides. I think the FP idea is great..otherwise there will be about 1790 people making a beeline for the rides at the opening of the time slot. The other 10 will be shopping.

anyone know the ride capacity? I was expecting about 90 minutes in line and rides with 30 to look around, try to get some food/merch...

That's exactly why I think they have the hour inbetween. Gives enough time at say 2pm to filter everyone else through the ride line their in or enough time to finish their food or get done shopping. I don't think right at the end of the time period everything immediately shuts down but that once it it's that time they'll let everyone know to head this way toward the exit or something along those lines

Doing my own math NRJ was realistically will be around 1440. They have to launch 2 sets of boats with 6 in each every 30 seconds to get that though. IF they are doing minute launches it'll be lower around 720. Flight of Passage I am unsure what the cycle time is. If we say a 6 minute cycle (5 minute ride 1 minute load/unload) then 16 per a room 3 rooms per a screen and 4 screens would be 1,920. I would have to adjust based on number of rooms per a screen, number of screens operational, and the cycle. This is also assuming everything is simultaneous but would be close to the hourly averages.

I am dancing and singing around the house! haha I am going by myself this trip, don't worry the family is going back in early June with me! haha My husband is already telling me he wants ride reviews as the priority, and he's helping me pick out which foods and drinks to try! haha I think he's a little sad that he can't go with me on this one. He's busy with work and the kids are busy with school, I had no commitments so I HAD to book this trip! haha

They are currently issuing return time passes for FoP only, but it's not clear yet if that will continue throughout all of the preview periods. They were forced to do it during the current previews. Fewer people will be allowed in during the AP and DVC previews, so it may not be necessary. I get the feeling that because it's working well, they may continue just for control purposes.

The 2 hour sessions currently do not end in a hard close, it's more of soft close. People are encouraged to leave though. IMO, 2 to 2-1/2 hours seems sufficient for the average guest.

would be 1,920.
I'm assuming those are hourly throughput? I have no clue if those estimates are close to what the expected throughput actually is, but the number of people allowed in for the 2 hour sessions is much lower.

Glad to hear it is less. I know someone else said they were told a computer error caused too many bookings. I mean they have to know how many emails went for and can plan for that. I think with CMs it is harder because it is based on guest oasses and some have 3 and some have 6 of those.

Yes those are hourly averages at max capacity. I heard it has been 300 for FoP for CMs due to some *issues*.
