Pasports - what are they used for?

I've seen some really cute designs for Passports. This is only our 2nd trip to WDW so I'm kindof a newbie about some things. What do you do with the Passports? Will they stamp your book or something at Epcot?

they stamp them in each of the countries and will write something in the language of the country -
they are cute to do.
