Party size question

Trying to book Art Smith's Homecoming for an anniversary dinner for my wife and I. Trying to book a res for two and there is nothing on the day we want it and only one available for our entire stay. If I up the party to four, I get lots of options, including the day we actually want. Is the restaurant going to refuse to seat us if we have a reservation for four but only two of us are there? Any other suggestions? We are trying to get Sunday 9/29, pretty flexible on time.

Take the reservation for 4 and either try and modify it later or just show up and tell them that 2 people were not able to make it. They won't send you away. Happy Anniversary! We'll be leaving WDW on 9/28 - lets hope for good weather!

Book 4 then you can immediately go in and modify to 2. Do it all the time. I often travel solo and book for however many I need to get a table, then modify to 1.

Thank you so much. I know this post is a little older but I wanted to bump it up. DH and I are going by ourselves next month and I wasted so much time trying to get reservations for 2. Apparently they want bigger parties to fill up a table. I was able to make a reservation for 3 and go back in and modify without issue!!!
