Party Size and Combining DAS and Genie+

I need some other experts to help me process this scenario. So, we will have 1 park day (pre-cruise) next summer and have one member (a child) in our party who qualifies for DAS. Unfortunately, our family is already a party of 5 just us, so tagging on any other extended family always puts us over the 6 person limit. Sometime, depending on group composition, that matters more than others. Unfortunately again, this trip will be a group of 7, so literally 1 outlier person for everything. Most things we would be using it for at EPCOT we will all want to ride. So, I am thinking about also buying Genie+ so we can try to maybe coordinate return times to all ride together. Has anyone done this? Did it work without much heartache?

We went with my sister and her family in February, 8 of us in total. We went to EPCOT together, just one day. We had DAS, her party had G+. We had a hard time making it work right off the bat, so we went to get help from a (blue umbrella) CM. She was very kind and said she would make an exception because it was only 1 day, and added all 7 of us to my DD's DAS, then refunded my sister's G+ purchase.

I know we got super lucky and it's not something I would count on happening ever again, but just wanted to share our experience. I think whether a DAS/G+ combination works, depends on how busy the park is...because if G+ availability is low, then it's very hard to make it work.

That is actually helpful. I had kind of landed on not setting up DAS in advance and just going to guest services. Definitely not expecting any exceptions, but hoping for maybe some magic when they see the composition of our group, that we only exceed the limit by 1, and we are only spending 1 day in the park. Also, being prepared to just rotate around or pick and choose who rides what if we have to hold to the 6 rule.
