So I am looking to book our next stay for September (come on free dining!) for 4 adults and 1 child. 2 of the adults, my dad and hubby, are big guys. Where would you stay - what can accomodate us plus a 3 year old who is also pretty tall?

Thanks!

With 4 adults plus a three-year old, you can stay at:

Family Suite at ASM
Alligator Bayou room (w/trundlebed) at POR
YC/BC
BWI
GF
Poly
CR
deluxe rooms at WL or AKL

Since you mentioned that your dad and DH are big guys, keep in mind that the beds at POR are doubles, not queens. Not sure what the bed situation is in the Family Suites.

You could also consider renting a 2-bedroom villa at any of the DVC resorts. That would give you one king bed, one or two queens in the second bedroom, and a sofabed in the living room. Not to mention, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a washer/dryer, and lots and lots of room.

You can book a villa through CRO as you would for any Disney resort, or you can rent a reservation from a DVC member, which will cost considerably less, but will likely have much stricter cancellation policies (i.e., you may not get your money back if you cancel). If you're interested in renting, be sure to read all of the FAQs on the DVC Rent/Trade board to make sure you understand the process, and how it differs from booking a room through CRO.

I would pass on the suites at ASMu. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but with your hubby sleeping with you in the bed, that would leave your dad sleeping on one of the pullouts. That might be fine with him, but I consider the pullouts for the kids with backs with more spring!:yay:

I am planning a trip for June 2009 and I would like input on rooms for a family of 5. We stayed at POR in 2007 and really enjoyed it. I would like to try a different hotel.

I am trying to decide if BC/YC is worth the money. My kids LOVE swimming and love waterslides and I love EPCOT. Is the room big enough for 2 adults and 3 children? Is it really worth the money?

I like the fact that DH and I could have our own room if we stayed in All Star Suites along with another bathroom. Downside is there is no waterslide plus more expensive then POR.

We could go back to POR again as I know everyone liked this resort. Downside, I didn't really like foodcourt options and we have been there.

My other problem is my mom wants to come with us which is great to have an extra set of hands and a babysitter when DH and I want to go out but I don't know if I feel right making her pay $300+ for a room just for her because we want to stay at BC/YC. If we stayed at the other two the price would be much more reasonable for her teacher salary.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

You could do any Moderate with 2 connecting rooms. That gives you 4 beds and room for a pack-n-play. That would be AAA at 150 for each room. Not too bad. Personally, I would love to have a bed to myself on a vacation as wearing as WDW can be!
