Party of 42!

Any way to save an area at a counter service for a party of 42. My only thoughts are either Pecos or PVH upstairs seating and getting there at like 3:00. Then having rest come at 4:00 to eat dinner. This would be on 2/8. We can't do a table service due to cost (budget of $15 per person) but want to try to eat together. What are some tips? We would love to go to MK but are open to others parks or Disney Springs. I just can't find any counter service type places that take reservations besides BOG (but we need dinner not lunch and no way I can get a BOG for 42 - LOL). Worse case, we can go offsite.

I have never heard of trying to reserve qs area.

Anyone have any insight?

I really don't think any QS is going to allow you to save 42 seats for an hour. When we ate at Satuli in August they wouldn't even let you sit unless you had your food order in hand. Perhaps try a QS in DS which will probably be less busy than a park QS.

I don't see you having any kind of chance of walking up and holding that many tables in an open restaurant, especially close together.

You need to call Disney direct and see if you can be directed to department that may handle special things like this. My guess is IF they did do something special it will cost you way more than your budget, like a special event.

Only thing I can think of is if Tomorrowland Terrace is closed, then you can get food wherever and all just meet there. But it randomly opens so no guarantee. Or chance enough tables open by Storybook Circus Tent and everyone carry food there.

If you want a sure bet I would go offsite, still calling ahead.

42 people? Makes me think of picnic tables for some reason. Where can you go that has picnic tables? Somewhere at Fort Wilderness?

Can you try making multiple ADR TS meals for parties of 6?

Agree with PP you can't reserve a part of a QS location, sadly!

I would think pretty much your only chance of all getting space in the same place at the same time would be to dine at off hours. Either when they first open (10:30 or 11?) or mid-afternoon (maybe 2:30 or 3). Even then it's going to be a tough get.

I don't think it would be appropriate to arrive an hour early and hold tables for 42 people, especially at a QS in a park. You could try calling Disney dining, explain your requirement and see if they can transfer you to the department that might be able to help you.

The food courts at the resorts might be less busy and while I still wouldn't recommend trying to save 42 seats for an hour, it might be easier to find tables near one another at 4 PM.

Hold tables for 42? :magnify: I'd like to see someone even try. I missed the holding part of that.

OP, that would never fly. The best you could hope would be to show up as a group (either early or late) and hope for the best.

Holding tables for an hour, even at an off time, would definitely not be acceptable. We often eat in the parks at 4:00 and there are usually others with the same idea. It’s not always a ghost town.

If anything you would need to arrange something with Disney and no way it’d be $15/pp.

Just thought of something ................ PizzeRizzo in DHS always seem to be mostly empty, has a huge downstairs, and upstairs AND a party room upstairs that is usually empty so we sit there. They also have outdoor seating and the upstairs balcony would be big enough and there's usually no one out there, I don't think they know it's there. I bet you could work here no problem.

The HS pizza place is a great idea hopper fan. I haven't been but keep hearing about the empty upstairs.

I guess I was lucky in September. We were the only ones at the pecos upstairs seating around 4:00. So thought maybe possible early Feb.

Pecos upstairs? There are lots of rooms and connect back through to Tortuga but I'm blanking on an upstairs.

CHH has an upstairs that if open will often have some space since many don't realize there but last few trips we found it to be busy.

PVH has a very small upstairs which unless it was reserved would likely be full.

Wherever you decide to go (both Pecos & Pizze Rizzo are good thoughts for the upstairs seating), just be sure to go at a non peak meal time to increase your chances of getting enough seating.

It was to the right when facing ordering. Then up stairs to the left. I think after some trash cans. Someone said there was a connecting hallway to Tortuga but pretty sure we were still in Pecos. Good size and was nice to be only ones there.

I'll have to look. It's a FULL floor above? Never seen it or heard anyone talk about it.

Yes there is a hallway to Tortuga downstairs and it's actually a ramp because Tortuga is about 2.5-3 feet higher in elevation. One of their rooms (sitting slightly higher) looks through windows to a Pecos dining room. They have several very nice dining rooms, outdoor dining most of which is covered, patio, bathrooms etc ... all part of Tortuga.

I seem to remember bathrooms to the right of ordering. Well I am perplexed and curious now.
