Party of 3 "may be seated at more than one table"

This is what the online system told me when making a reservation.

Why in the world would a party of 3 be seated at more than one table?

How do we decide which one of us dines alone?
 
All reservations say that, but we have never had to sit at different tables! Don't worry about it.

I'm not really worrying because I cannot fathom how they would separate a party of 3.

But I have made other reservations that did NOT say this. It's just really curious.
 
This is a pretty standard disclaimer on the ADR. I've even heard people getting that note for groups of 1 and 2. I would not worry about it - in all of my trips, our group of 3 has never been split up.

(Note: the only place where I'm not sure how good a three works is the sci-fi if you want to eat in one of the cars. Those benches are really designed for only two adults, so someone ends up alone.)
