I've never had to make ADR's for 17 before, wondering what sort of issues I should anticipate. :confused3 Our trip is end of May/beginning of June.

Call the dinning line directly and ask for Group Dinning/Group Sales. They will send assign you to a coordinater who will make all of the reservations for you.

Some places that are good for large groups: Crystal palace, Ohana, Biergarten, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, Boma. But don't feel you have to limit yourself to these places.

I had some trouble with large groups for a family reunion in February (one group of 16, others of 11). I had no problem with an Ohana reservation of 11 and Cinderella's Royal Table for 11, but ran into trouble with Via Napoli for 11 and Liberty Tree Tavern for 16.

For Via Napoli and Liberty Tree Tavern the Disney dining rep made me multiple dining ressies for the same time (or close to the same time) and recommended I contact the restaurants closer to my trip to combine them. I have a phone number for Via Napoli to negotiate a table for 11 from my tables for 9 and 2, but will have to stop by LTT (no phone # available) to see if we can combine our tables of 11 and 5.

I wish I knew about asking for group dining--I maybe need to call back and try that.

You can book online for tables up to 14. So you may be able to get a better table situation for Via Napoli using the online system. Even then, it's not guaranteed you'll all sit together (same with group dinning). For LTT, try the group dining/group sales path.

I'm in the midst of this now! One issue I found is that signature restaurants only seat larger groups at 5:30. Thankfully CG allows a table of 12 as a regular res, so we did one 12 and one 3.

V.N. allows tables up to 14. I made 2 reservations (14/1) at the same time and was instructed by the V.N. manager to stop by the podium the day of our ADR to ask them to combine our reservations.

I would call group reservations for sure. Thankfully I was able to avoid it and worked everything out online. Our party drops to 12 half way through the trip, so those were no problem.

Good luck!

I just called.... Again.... And asked for a group dining rep. She said they no longer do that and that they all handle large parties if possible. I handed my V.N. dilemma over to her, and she was able to get us a reservation for 15! :cheer2: amazing that she pulled off what 2 other ADR agents and a restaurant manager couldn't do. Had to complete the survey. :)

Thanks for the great advice, I'll be calling back to get some help with Via Napoli--i think when I made ADRs in August the online system wouldn't let me make one for more than 10, I guess they've increased it to 14 since then--or I just hit it on a bad day!

Thanks everyone for the info! :thumbsup2 I have a few ideas about dining during our trip and was happy to see that several of them were deemed "large party" friendly. :) I'm thinking we'll do Spirit of Aloha or Ohana, WCC, BOG, CP, Biergarten, Tusker House, and 50's PTC. Incidentally 50's PTC is my biggest worry because that's where my daughter wants to have her 13th bday dinner. Fingers crossed I get a very helpful CM when I call in December.

We booked a party of 15 at Tusker House at lunch with no problem. You should be fine there! I imagine BOG will be a battle.
