Hi

We are a group of 12 travelling this year and I will be shortly booking our ADRs :cool1:

My question is how do they sort out the bill?

We have no issue paying the automatic 18% - I appreciate how manic it is taking 12 orders with kids changing their minds halfway through and adults chipping in, constantly refilling drinks etc etc

However, we would want to split the bill 3 ways so we can use the DDP credits (not all familes have the same AD/CH ratio) and also one party drinks alcohol which the other 2 parties obviously wouldn't want to pay for or have it increase their tip?

Can we order as a party of 12 but then pay as 3 parties of 4?

Also - I've been as a family of 4 on the DDP for the last few years and I know when I book my ADRS there's the standard clause saying you may bot be seated together etc - but could somebody with experiecne of dining in a large group advise if we will be seated together - we will be very disappointed if we're not. We're quite prepared to wait when we arrive at our ADR but just wondered if somebdoy had experienced this??

Many thanks in advance

Janet

When we go with relatives we are 3 adults and they are 2 adults and a child. We tell them we want to order on 2 checks. It usually works but you get some that add things on wrong account. A good server should be able to run 3 checks and give you all your own cost at the end including 18% tip.

We had 11 last year and split the ills no problem, most of the time we were seated on seperate tables even though i booked as one large party

But were the tables next to each other or in different parts of the restauarant?

Some where nextor across an aisle some were not yet on the ones where we were seated at different parts we still got charged 18% even though we had different servers and two on one table were underthrees

Garden grill was on example we were at opposite ends so we had five and two infants on one and four on another

We actually argued the 18% at one TS place as we was say no where nr each other as a party of 8 and had different servers, no way do I think I should pay 18% of a total bill when we couldn't even see each other!!

Yes we did at the next ine that was the same, in the end when i checked us in i split the parties up as 9 outof ten times they would split us up any way

Splitting the check should be no problem just tell them who is on which check. We had a party of 7 but needed 3 checks for the DDP one year and it was never a problem.

Also for reference anyone seated at the table counts towards the party size - adults, children and infants.
