Hello. We're doing WDW with the whole family...grandma & grandpa, my family (with a 2 and 4 year old) and my brother and his family (with a 9 and 13 year old). So...with such a large and varied group, what do you guys recommend that can accommodate all of us nicely? Restaurants in particular that interest us are:

Le Cellier
Sci-Fi Diner
San Angel Inn
Ohana
Teppanyaki
Spirit of Aloha Show

We're going to do character b'fasts with the little ones at Hollywood & Vine and maybe Ohana or Chef Mickey's too...but without the rest of the family.

The only two on your list I have done are the Sci-Fi Drive In and San Angel Inn. I like the San Angel Inn. The Mole Chicken was very yummy. :goodvibes And I also like the whole atmosphere, with the volcano erupting and the boats going by. The Sci-Fi was good as well, the only problem you might have is in the way the cars you sit in are arranged. Some of them have 2 rows that face the same way, which makes it hard to chat with the rest of your group.

le celier can be good but it is a quieter restaurant and i know when im with my family of 5 that we like to talk and can be rather loud esp when us kids were younger

teppanyaki is good but they sit 8 per table and if they split you up into 5 and 5 than you sit with three other people at each table

san angel in is good and the atmosphere is really cool, we did it when i was 12 and my DB and DSis were 10

sci fi has decent food but does not lead to a family dining atmosphere as no one is facing eachother since you are all facing the screen, sit

i have never eaten at ohana's but have heard good things all around

personally... i would choose 50's prime time cafe (really good food, and a place that the family could have a blast especially with a good server!), hoop de do revue (all you can eat chicken and ribs, good show!), or whispering canyon cafe!

I have only been to Ohana and Le Cellier.
My whole family loved Le Cellier and I thought it was delicous.
I loved Ohana(we went for dinner) but my younger sister didnt like the food so they gave her a kids menu.

In the last two years we've gone down to WDW as parties of 11 and 12. Very popular with us were: Le Cellier (#1 hands down), Boma (very varied food with lots and lots of choices for even the youngest and oldest and the pickiest eaters, plus you can walk around and see the animals), O'hana (fun atmosphere and lots of activities going on for the kids), Hoop de Doo (also lots of fun). San Angel was a little slow for some of our youngest eaters. Not good for a big party was Coral Reef since the tables are stationery and we had to split up.

Thank you all so much. What is Hoop de Doo? Would that be better than spirit of aloha? I've read such horror stories about getting into Le Cellier - but at least we are going before free dining starts, though I better call soon!

Hoop De Doo Revue is a Dinner Show at Fort Wilderness...

It is a whole lot of fun!

we did a group of ten and we ate at Hollywood and Vine .dinner buffet, and the crystal palace was good too for that large group and ages.......Also the German Buffet is good and entertaining......Biergarten .......

We just got back...with a group of ten also. It was myself, dh,ds6 & ds4, grandparents, dbil and dsil with two older children 18 & 20. When I made ADR's I was told at most places we would be seated at two tables but we had the following experiences:

POR Boatrights- very good food, good choices for my kids and we were all seated at one table.

Crystal Palace- buffet, food was good, character interaction (pooh and friends) was decent, seated at two tables but side by side.

Hollywood-n-Vine- buffet, food not so good, no real good choices for my kids, seated at two tables but side by side. Only one we will not return to on future visits!

CR Concourse Steakhouse- Great food, excellent service, more good choices for my kids, seated at one table.

DTD Captain Jacks- Food was good, not much for my picky kids to choose from, seated at one table though.

Coral Reef- very good food, seated at one table in first row of booths facing the tank. My kids loved it!!

O'Hana- Excellent food, my kids didn't eat the meal provided but we had no trouble ordering them grilled cheese sand. here. Service was very good and an overall good time. All seated at one table.

Hope this helps!!

Your whole group would be able to sit together at Biergarten and since it is a buffet, there is something for everyone. Also, there is entertainment so the kids will have more to do. On our last visit, the kids were all dancing and having a great time!:cool1:

Well, I do plan on decorating the window...already bought some mr. potato head cutouts, so that may stand out a little more. :thumbsup2 I have also been stocking up on the home depot mickey paint sample heads.

My DD and I did a raid on the Mickey heads. We grabbed just about every color, especially the lime green ones. I love the Mr, Potato Head idea too! Where di you find the cut outs? We've never decorated before, but I think we should this trip. I'll be looking for you!:yay:

I found them at the dollar store - I think dollar tree. It was the one that is in my mall & they were with the party decorations. I am really looking forward to all this. Just hope it's not too awfully hot in August. Well, I can hope, right? :upsidedow

We were there last August and it was hot, but bearable. I made neck coolers and they definitely made a difference. We also bought one of the misting fans and it came in handy also. They actually had areas set up at the parks where you could get ice and water put in. They were definitely trying to prevent any heat related problems.:)
