absolutely one of the most amazing, wonderful dining/entertainment/party events I have ever been to in my life!!!
First, the food- oh, the food!!! The variety, the exquisite presentation, the wonderful creations, the quality was astounding!!! I didn't have a single thing that was bad or even "so-so". It was all fantastic or amazing or great. Some highlights: lamb shank ravioli with a tomato and sour cream sauce, cedar-plank grilled scallops, wasabi encrusted tuna, goat cheese and tomato sushi, tenderloin sushi, grilled elk (yes, elk!- delicious), delicious cheeses, desserts and so much more!
Second, wine. My God, I must have tasted all 100 of the choices. It was amazing. There were also these delicious rum shooters and sam adams beer where we got to taste their Utopia beer offering which sells for $125 a bottle.
Third- the entertainment & atmosphere. Great live music (Cirque du Soleil- style) and 4 wonderful 10-15 minute performances from Cirque du Soleli. Up close and amazing. Decor was amazing- it was all black curtains with gorgeous colored lighting by section and these amazing draperies givign it a very elegant, mysterious, fun look. Beautifully deocrated food stations and tables. And really wonderful service. Plates being picked up almost before you went to set them down. Like being at a very posh cocktail party.
Just a word to those who complained about lack of tables- I must say I feel even more strongly now that you just didn't "get it". We floated from station to station holding our always full wine glass and resting our plate on the little plate that attachs to your wine glass. When there was cutting involved, we briefly leaned at a cocktail table and the few times we needed a minute to catch our breath and sit down, we just went up to a less than full table and grabbed a seat. Those of you who hunkered down at a table for the night like it was a buffet missed out on the light casual conversations with people from all over the world and the ambiance of the floating around the room. We encountered the occassional "hunkerer" who got annoyed when we sat down, saying "these seats are taken" (even though no one was there). To which we responded with a nice smile, "don't worry, we'll just be a minute as we cut our food" and proceeded to sit there for a minute to eat our bites. It is the people who treated the tables like this that cause the lack of seating, IMO. I did also notice they had tables reserved for the handicapped at various places around the room so if that had been an issue before, it was corrected.
Well worth every penny of the $135 pp and then some!!!
