absolutely one of the most amazing, wonderful dining/entertainment/party events I have ever been to in my life!!!

First, the food- oh, the food!!! The variety, the exquisite presentation, the wonderful creations, the quality was astounding!!! I didn't have a single thing that was bad or even "so-so". It was all fantastic or amazing or great. Some highlights: lamb shank ravioli with a tomato and sour cream sauce, cedar-plank grilled scallops, wasabi encrusted tuna, goat cheese and tomato sushi, tenderloin sushi, grilled elk (yes, elk!- delicious), delicious cheeses, desserts and so much more!

Second, wine. My God, I must have tasted all 100 of the choices. It was amazing. There were also these delicious rum shooters and sam adams beer where we got to taste their Utopia beer offering which sells for $125 a bottle.

Third- the entertainment & atmosphere. Great live music (Cirque du Soleil- style) and 4 wonderful 10-15 minute performances from Cirque du Soleli. Up close and amazing. Decor was amazing- it was all black curtains with gorgeous colored lighting by section and these amazing draperies givign it a very elegant, mysterious, fun look. Beautifully deocrated food stations and tables. And really wonderful service. Plates being picked up almost before you went to set them down. Like being at a very posh cocktail party.

Just a word to those who complained about lack of tables- I must say I feel even more strongly now that you just didn't "get it". We floated from station to station holding our always full wine glass and resting our plate on the little plate that attachs to your wine glass. When there was cutting involved, we briefly leaned at a cocktail table and the few times we needed a minute to catch our breath and sit down, we just went up to a less than full table and grabbed a seat. Those of you who hunkered down at a table for the night like it was a buffet missed out on the light casual conversations with people from all over the world and the ambiance of the floating around the room. We encountered the occassional "hunkerer" who got annoyed when we sat down, saying "these seats are taken" (even though no one was there). To which we responded with a nice smile, "don't worry, we'll just be a minute as we cut our food" and proceeded to sit there for a minute to eat our bites. It is the people who treated the tables like this that cause the lack of seating, IMO. I did also notice they had tables reserved for the handicapped at various places around the room so if that had been an issue before, it was corrected.

Well worth every penny of the $135 pp and then some!!!

conandrob240,
You spelled it out perfectly!
I felt the same way about PFTS.
Loved your analogy of "hunkering down like it was a buffet".:rotfl2:
I can hardly wait for next years event.

Deb

You did describe it perfectly, simply amazing, but you left out the front row seats to the Village People as the "appetizer"!

We got to talk to people from all over, everyone was having a great time.

This was our first time attending the event and we really had no idea what to expect, cant wait to try it again. The Chef's were very friendly and a pleasure to talk with.

The wine and beer was exceptional as well, dont forget the champagne too!

We are so happy that we spent the money on this.

I am SOOOOOO glad you cleared this up for me...after a previous bad review I worried and thought of not putting this on the plans for next year. It sounds AWESOME and your idea of cruising the room sounds like US!

By the way, how did you feel after 100 wine samples!?!

Alright so maybe not 100 samples;) but a lot and we were definitely quite drunk by the end of the night. Very drunk + 40 yrs old = 3 day hangover LOL. But worth every headache and every $ we paid. I am so excited to go back next year!!!

I am glad you enjoyed it! Although as a "hunkerer" I take offense at your generalization. We were very friendly and welcoming hunkerers!:rotfl:

Seriously, glad you enjoyed it. You know my opinion about this one compared to the previous 2 years, but I went to the first one of the season so maybe they were a little shaky that night???:confused3

What a great review, and I completely agree with you, we went 2 years ago, and loved it, we just walked around tasted a lot of the food and wine and really enjoyed talking to the chef, and people pouring wine, at one point we went back in the waiting area and sat there for a while just to rest, it was a lovely evening and one that I hope to repeat soon.
I agree with your assessment it is a coktail party not a buffet dinner, and should be treated as such, we also got dirty looks as we sat at "saved" seats.

I didn't make a generalization at all. I said the people who hunkered down at a table just didn't "get" the whole idea of the party and that is not a generalization, it is the way I see it. And I clearly said only the "occassional hunkerer" was rude- most were very pleasant.

Ummmm, I was making a joke. Sorry you didn't get it.
