I know this is a very unlikely scenario, but is there such a thing as a Partial Dining Plan Upgrade?? We are staying for 9 nights at POP and will likley qualify for the QSDP in the fall. We dont eat that many TS, but may schedule a handful during our 10 days on property. Is there any way to upgrade 4 days for example to DDP and leave the rest as QSDP? I know you can use a TS as a QS.....I just wish you could use 2 QS as 1 TS.

thought about breaking up the vacation into 2 reservations, but then the TS would have to all be used by the end of the one reservation.

Thanks for any suggestions

There's no such thing as a partial dining plan anything. If you have one room reservation, everyone on the reservation (as long as they're 3 or older) must have the same dining plan for the length of the stay. Kids under 3 don't get dining credits at all.

The only way to do what you are suggesting is to have separate room reservations. and 2 separate reservations on free dining means buying 2 sets of tickets. You don't have to use them both on the same trip, but you do have to buy them.

There has never been a "Partial Dining Plan Upgrade." The only way you can have 2 different dining plans on one trip is to do 2 separate reservations, but as Makira Marlena pointed out, this will require 2 sets of tickets.

Depending on how many TS you plan, it may be worth upgrading your free QS plan to the DDP.

You cannot use any combination of QS credits for a TS.

Your upgrade cost for an adult for 9 nights is going to be $170-$171. So, if you're thinking of doing 4 TS, that's $42.50 per meal. You'll probably do better paying OOP for those few TS meals.

If you think you'd want more than 4 or you have several kiddos, the calculations will change.

What we did when we had free dining at a value resort and wanted a few TS meals is just pay for the TS meals OOP. I compared the cost of upgrading from QSDP to DDP vs the cost of the TS meals. The cost of the meals was less than the upgrade cost and I still had the full 2 QS meals per day on top of that so more food, less money, and dining exactly the way I wanted. I suggest you do the math to see which makes more sense for you.
